Well, if I were him I'd be content staying home, being healthy, and having sex with AJ Lee when she's on her days off. Knowing Punk he's probably prowling around Chicago like some tomcat in heat when she's away. Now I've got the image of CM Punk meowing in an alley while a stereotypical New Yorker tells him to him shut the hell up and tosses a shoe at him.

One of the best wrestlers of this generation. Like, people can compare him to the likes of Roddy Piper or Jake Roberts, but there really is only one CM Punk. Those are the best types of wrestlers though. Instead of modern day wrestler x, it's basically, they were the first of their kind.
I remember first hearing about Punk back in 2003 because I was still following Raven after he was fired from WWE, and I heard about him feuding with this guy CM Punk in ROH. That's how I actually first heard of ROH as well. And he had a lot of buzz at the time, and he did cut good promos. I also got to watch random videos at that time, including the dog collar match between the two, which was really good, where they had the fake run in with Danny Doring at the start, and the real run in with Tommy Dreamer, and then having Punk drink the beer. And he even won the match.
I then heard about the famous Samoa Joe/Punk series, and I was on the message board here when Punk won the ROH World Title, and I watched the show where Punk did a surprise appearance in ROH teaming with Daniel Bryan against Adam Pearce and someone else, maybe Jimmy Rave, I just remember Pearce squashed some students before the match. I also got to watch some of his OVW stuff and he was really good there.
I guess I'll shorten this instead of going through all the Punk memories. Definitely a once in a generation type of performer, a very passionate and honest performer, and always great to watch. And it's good he got out of wrestling on top, with money and all that fun stuff.

Well, now that Punk is officially gone and no longer under WWE contract he can take the time to thank all his fans who've faithfully supported him throughout the years, made him the star he is today, and tell them how much he appreciates them for all the money and success earned through their support. They paid to watch him wrestle. He wrestled. Unless they started a retirement fund I don't know about, it's the end of transaction. Yep, he'd be so much better off if fans had taken that attitude from day one.

One of the best I ever seen, and one of my all time favorites. He left on his own terms and with his health. I know some people do, but I will never blame for that.

His feud with Jeff Hardy was one of the best of the post Attitude Era. The stuff he did with the Straight Edge Society was a riot at times. The Summer of Punk was a memorable gimmick until someone decided to sabotage it.

I am curious to see just what the future holds for him. A dude that driven isn't just gonna putter around the house; so you wonder what he'll be involved with now.

I may rag on the dude for being a dick, but I still respect the hell out of Punk as a performer. Seeing him win the ROH World Title from Austin Aries and the WWE Title from Alberto Del Rio are two of my fondest live show memories, to say nothing of the other countless great promos and matches he's delivered throughout the years.

Why are dead wrestlers in the alumni section? That's a little depressing. Maybe they'll be back, you don't know! Ha Ha Anything can happen in the WWE, Maggle!

He was an important part of my late teens up to now, and I'm curious to see what he does from here.

One of my all time favourite wrestlers, seeing him teaming up with Daniel Bryan to face The Wyatt Family was one of my favourite live wrestling moments.

Always a CM Punk guy, one of the best wrestlers on the microphone and in the ring. A truly captivating performer. I'm glad he's left with his health and happiness. Best of luck in the future Punk, and thanks for all the memories.

I'd seen some of his ROH stuff and liked it, but was a bit hesitant about how he'd do in WWE. I was pretty lukewarm for his first couple years or so but it slowly started to turn around for me with his ECW title feud. 2011 was a calendar year to be proud of.
While I'd never say I was a huge fan, and the hero worship for him at times kinda baffled me, he was one of WWE's best hands both in the ring and on the mic. I'm not torn up if he doesn't come back but happy if he does, and of course wish him the best in life.

I've been a fan since his early IWA Mid-south days. I always loved his heelish fan interactions. He would be the biggest asshole ever but I ate it up appreciating that he was really good at his job. Knowing now that he really was a pretty big asshole and didn't really have to act too hard still doesn't take away the awesomeness that was Punk when he was working for Ian.
Punk's a guy who could come out and stir shit for 5 minutes with the crowd, wrestle for 60 minutes against guys like Hero or Joe or have a 15 minute f***-around match with someone like Colt or Delirious and didn't matter which you got, you were entertained.
You can say a hell of a lot of bad things about Punk (and he probably deserves all of them) but if he really is done for good the wrestling world's lost it's all-time best living heel not named Dibiase.

I've been a Punk fan since late 2004 when I first was shown ROH. It didn't take me long to get caught up in how talented he was. Pretty quickly I was a fan. And by the time the Summer of Punk came around I was hooked. Sadly, I never watched OVW and I had decided to take an extended break from WWE in 2006 so it was about three years (minus the WrestleMania's he was on) before I saw Punk again - when I heard about the Jeff Hardy feud. Once that ended I didn't seem him again until 'Mania 26 where he was jobbing to Rey. I was back full-time after watching I heard about the Nexus angle. I couldn't believe that Punk hadn't ammounted to more following his title feud with Jeff. I really thought his talented had been wasted and then bang, that famous night in Las Vegas happened. The pipebomb that was actually a pipebomb. Incredible promo (although I still maintain his promo in Boston later was even better). Followed up by one of the best PPV's of the modern era headline by one of my favurite matches of all-time. His title run was never boring although his heel turn still annoys me because nobody wanted to see it. His return was sloppy I thought (vs. Y2J at Payback) but nobody else seemed to think so. Then he was attacked by Lesnar and it led to an amazing match at Summerslam. His feud with Paul E went on too long after that and then the Wyatt Family/Shield stuff seemed like a way to keep Punk and Bryan busy and out of the title picture (for whatever reason). He honestly looked lost and depressed and it's hard for me to blame him. He clearly had stopped enjoying his life at that point. From start to finish Punk has done nothing but entertain me so I do feel the need to thank him and if he is (as it seems) truly gone forever then I hope he enjoys the rest of his life, he's earned it.
