FANtasy Football is back for another epic year. This year I'll be commissioning the league. Nothing has majorly changed.
RULES:
There will be 14 teams. (FIRST COME FIRST SERVE)
Games will start on week 1 of the NFL season, with the playoffs going through weeks 14, 15, and 16 of the NFL season. This means every team will play every other team once. The top 8 will make it to the playoffs.
NOTE: THE DRAFT TIME IN THE LEAGUE IS SET FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 25TH AT 8:00 PM EST/7:00 PM CST. If you believe this will pose a problem, please PM me. I know it's during Raw, which is kind of the reason I decided on this time, knowing the majority of people would be available. If you cannot make this time, that does NOT mean you will be booted from the league. Participation in the draft is not mandatory, but it's heavily suggested that you do (more details in the "draft info" section ahead). However, if this is enough of an issue for some, then I will change it to another day/time.
Draft info:
The draft will be a traditional "snake" draft. This means that the order will be reversed in each even numbered round; picking 1st in Rd. 1 will mean you pick 14th in Rd. 2, picking 9th in Rd. 1 means you'll pick 4th in Rd. 2, etc. Each team will have 1 minute and 30 seconds when it is their turn to pick.
Usually these drafts go by fairly quick, depending on how many people are there for the draft and who isn't, how long picks are taking, etc. I would expect it to take around 2 hours, give or take.
The draft order is decided via Yahoo!'s systems and will be announced 30 minutes before the draft begins. I have no power as to the order of the draft whatsoever. If you want to know where you draft in advance, you better show up in that time window.
I would also like to encourage anyone who might be unsure if they will be available to setup their "quicklist", or their order of best-to-worst players. If you set this up and do not make the draft, Yahoo will select the best available for your team based on the list you made and positional need. If you do not do this, Yahoo! will autodraft for you based on their own player rankings. You can even arrange your list during the draft itself, so you can keep a running "big board" of players you have put more stock in than others that might be higher ranked (which is something I personally do, as I tend to deviate from my rankings once positional need becomes a factor).
Each team will be able to start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, and there will be a "flex" position to start either a 3rd RB, a 4th WR, or a 2nd TE each week. There will also be 6 bench positions, one more than usual to factor in the flex position.
The game will be scored under traditional "Yahoo!" fantasy football scoring, this is NOT a PPR (points per reception) league."
If you want to be in this, send me a PM and I'll give you the link. I'll keep sending in links until all 14 spots are filled, so get in as soon as you can!
