This seems to be what a lot of people are thinking for Swagger vs Rusev 2, which actually would let Swagger win without Rusev getting pinned or tapping out

EHHH. Not a fan of flag matches. WWE tried to do them a lot in the 97 era, and they were all awful.

Cold War Match: Swagger and Rusev won't actually face each other, they'll just support whatever proxies they have in the ring competing.

I hope it's a submission match.

They're tough but I can see them pulling it off, Rusev is a good brawler, Swagger is gonna keep him grounded, use both Lana and Zeb (please I'm tired of him standing around at least kick Rusev on the balls), if Rusev wins can we get a Kurt Angle run in? That sounds almost impossible I want to hear that music and the crowd's pop one last time.

Nah, I think that Roman is going to end up beating Rusev's ass sooner rather than later.
Maybe the flag match will happen on Raw though.

What I am expecting. Well actually I expected Swagger to get a shock win then a post match beatdown ending with Rusev snapping the US flag over his knee and covering Swagger with the Russian flag and that leading to the match but yeah.

The funny part is that everytime they did it in the territory days for example (mid south comes to mind, Eddie Gilbert hitting Watts with a red shovel ) the wrestlers playing the Russians are actually American. I got kinda sad when I found out Nikita Koloff was actually called Fred.

Rusev vs. Swagger II: loser will be exiled to Siberia.

I'm not ready to talk about Flag Matches after what happened to Estonian Thunderfrog tonight at CHIKARA
Just too soon...

All I know is that I'm sick of them feuding.

This feud doesn't have the build to rival such storied, built up flag matches as Jim Duggan / Daivari.

To be honest if enough people, as I think may have, complain about the "recent current events" comment, I'd be surprised if Rusev even makes it to Summerslam. I wouldn't be disappointed if this the case as Flag matches are slightly more horrible than watching Jack Swagger normally.

It won't work because of their place on the card but a cage match would be fun.

Rusev's already lost battle royales, so him losing a flag match is a-okay with me. Just go with the "never been pinned, never tapped out" thing.

Rusev's already lost battle royales, so him losing a flag match is a-okay with me. Just go with the "never been pinned, never tapped out" thing. Step one into, "Never been beaten on SmackDown," territory. Then again, undefeated streaks basically mean absolutely nothing, because nearly every single person who has debuted in wrestling in the past decade or so has had one for months. I'd just as soon they have Rusev lose sooner rather than later so they can get that out of the way - it's not like, say, the Shield was hurt at all by their first loss.
