Not advocating for another Cena/Orton match just the silliness of last nights segment. Triple H announces Orton as his candidate and he gets attacked by Reigns. "f*** it, Orton is unworthy now."

To be fair, Orton just ran out there, and HHH never said he was going to be the #1 Contender.

Thing is, I'm sure Triple H was about to announce Heath Slater as No. 1 Contender, but first Orton and then Heyman interrupted him and he just couldn't be bothered anymore.

If only Reigns were around the other couple of dozen times that Orton was put in a title match when there were more interesting candidates available for that slot.

Nothing like announcing a guy that just got his ass kicked as your personal choice to unseat Cena as champion.
That would be like putting all your money on Michigan to win the National Title an hour after Ohio State beats them 49-7.

The same logic applies to someone who's going to get fired being spared because his boss was interrupted in the middle of saying "you're fired."

You know, for all that people decry how the midcard guys like Ziggler and Cesaro get booked, Orton has been treated just as bad, if not worse, as the crown jewel of The Authority. He's yet to even win a double-digit number of matches this year (9-20, 3 draws).

Eh, I think it was just another shot at the IWC, especially with Reigns saying what he did about seeing "ANOTHER" Cena/Orton match. I figured the kayfabe reasoning would be Triple H figured Rollins can't do it because Ambrose won't let it happen, and Reigns is apparently doing the same with Orton now. So, wanting to make sure the job gets done, Haitch went with what seems to be the sure option. Plus, he was in a hurry so he could get down to the precinct and whatnot.

Yeah I agree with some posts in this thread, I figured Orton jumped the gun and came out thinking Triple H was going to announce him as the challenger. Or maybe he thought interrupting Hunter would be the thing he had to do to impress him and show some balls by interrupting the COO.

It only counts if you can make it into the ring
