It takes two to have a good or great match. John Cena had a watchable match with Khali. Credit 100% goes to Cena. Miz has NEVER had a good match with a middle-of-the-road wrestler, because he isn't that skilled himself. His only good matches have been against guys like Bryan, Morrison, Jericho, Ziggler, Punk, Mysterio, etc. As soon as he's not in the ring with someone who is incredibly gifted between the ropes, the match is plodding trash. That's not entirely true. Miz has had good matches in the past with guys who aren't exactly "workratez" masters. A few examples are lHis ending series with Barrett last year. Two years ago he had a solid 13 minute performance on Superstars two years ago against Alex Riley of all people. And as lame as his weird tweener turn and feud with Kofi was, the matches were pretty good as well. Just because he can't "carry" someone doesn't mean he's a bad wrestler.

Soon as I saw LaBar's name on it, I knew I wasn't going to agree with it. I try to be open-minded, but that guy just doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

He's had a solid career, that only cooled off in the last 2 years. He has another 5+ years left in him, and he will likely be a future Hall of Famer. He has had many many good matches against a variety of opponents. I can understand why many people are bored of him these days, but if they give him a main event caliber storyline, he could deliver. If they choose not to give him a good storyline, and he just defends and competes for the midcard titles for the rest of his career, he will have still had a better career than many others. And I'm sure he's perfectly fine with that.

He should issue a mandate to all people attending events so they can cheer and boo properly to his liking.

I feel you, but in fairness to his critics, he hasn't a good match (pre-Ziggler) in a long time. I still think WWE don't think WWE gives a shit about the guy in any meaningful way, given the way Steph dismissed him on-air without any retaliation. But at least ring-wise, it's up to Miz to change the perception he has as a lesser worker. His skills seemed to have plateaued along with his push. And I'm a fan of the guy!

This guy probably still thinks you're a mark if you do like Miz.
(Language warning)
This video is still as cringeworthy as ever.
"More like The Jizz" is an insult even worse than "Your mom does".

I like Justin's work. He's not some guy with a blog. He has been legitimately working in and out of wrestling and MMA to really become knowledgeable.
That being said, he has become NBC Sports/ Universal's go-to wrestling expert. Defending The Miz might be calculated on his part.
Even still, I tend to agree. This is all metadiscourse about an essential truth in wrestling: heels generate heat. Wrestlers personalities might be magnifications or extensions of the real person, but it only adds to the genuine and organic nature of the gimmick (think "living in the square"). Everyone hates the blue-chip, cocky, good-looking athlete because of sheer jealousy. Add the fact that he is given everything --fame, money, etc., and that he rubs it all in everyone's faces. Voila, Ric Flair, HHH, et al.
There are conflicting reports concerning Miz's true personality. Some people from NE Ohio know him still to be the kid who flipped burgers at his dad's Mr. Hero. Others know him to be just like the douchebag he portrays. Either way, his heat lies in his personality. He isn't dark, large, and intimidating. He isn't cerebral. So he's a generic mix of bad qualities...aren't most real life heels?
I guess The Miz will forever be a foil to Cena. As much as people hate Cena for who he is, people hate Miz for the same reasons.
