Bengals just signed Dalton for 6-years, $115 Million. I am livid. "My extension doesn't look as ridiculous now does it?"

Giants placed RB David Wilson (neck) on injured reserve, ending his season. His career is over I feel really bad for him. No one should have their pro career end that young. At least he gets his money this season as he was placed on IR. and I hope the NFL or the Giants pays for his medical needs. Hope he's successful in whatever he chooses to do after his all-too-short NFL career.

What's with giving these mediocre QBs a s***-ton of money?
First Flacco last year with his six year, $120.6 million contract, then Andy Dalton with his six year, $115 million contract.
What next? The Bears sign Cutler to a crazy ass contract? Or maybe the Buccaneers sign McCown for a long term deal?

Dalton isn't perfect, he could have a 4-0 TD/INT Game one week and then a 1-3 TD/INT another, but sometimes even his shit games produce wins. Flacco is a Super Bowl QB, I know shit QBs have made the Superbowl before, and recently in Grossman, and hell Mark Sanchez almost made one Twice, but Flacco has proved to be good enough to be a franchise QB. Dalton to me hasn't proven he's a Franchise QB worth that ton of money, but the Bengals are locking in whether that's a good or a bad thing, time will tell.
Cutler's another story. He to me is just the best they can do at this point and have locked in regardless, and the Bucs well... they'll take what they can get this year...

Giants placed RB David Wilson (neck) on injured reserve, ending his season. His career is over A real shame what happened to this kid. He just never got out of the Starting Gates, Injuries haunted him and just never went away. At 23 he has plenty of time to do more with his life, so more power to him and whatever he does in the future.

Man, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson are going to get PAID if that is what they are giving average starting QBs. Imagine if Tom Brady has enough gas in the tank at the end of his contract to play a few more years. That contract would be insane.

At least with Flacco you can argue that he actually won something, and contributed to it by catching fire in the playoffs that year. And this is coming from someone who loathes Flacco

He's a Quarterback to me, that does JUST ENOUGH to get by. I mean he doesn't really have an Ace Receiving Corps, so TD's and such aren't abundant with him. What makes Flacco look really good is the fact he scores a TD, throws no INT's, and they'll win a game thanks to their Defense and getting close enough for Field Goals to win 13-10.
I mean Flacco doesn't SUCK, but he isn't Peyton. I'd love to see what he'd do with a constant Wide Receiver because for the life of me I can't remember him having one since he's there.

Flacco is an average QB who is capable of breaking out on occasion. That's not an insult given the severe lack of talent in the leauge when it comes to starters. There are a handful of teams that'd take him in a second

And this is coming from someone who loathes Flacco Flacco was the starting QB, but that team was carried by Anquan Boldin. Boldin was the one bailing them out of bad throws by Flacco, or horrible protection from the O-Line. Boldin should have been Super Bowl MVP, and he got Flacco that contract. Flacco's decent, he's not elite, and I wouldn't put him up there with Philip Rivers or Andrew Luck (he'll probably break into elite this year) in the 2nd tier.

I dont think he's elite either, but I honestly think he's surpassed Rivers, who with some real talented Chargers teams won a big bucket of nothing I don't put that all on Rivers. Keep in mind he had Marty Schottenheimer as coach for one playoff appearance, and Schottenheimer had the most predictable offensive playbook ever. One year they went 8-8 and actually won their first playoff game. And let's not forget that Rivers on 1 leg went into Foxboro in the AFC Championship Game and damn near ended the undefeated season of the Pats. Yeah the Jets loss was horrible, but while those Chargers teams did have some talent they were hampered by some bad coaching, and defenses that weren't that good. I think Rivers is a lot better than people give him credit for, he's hurt by the fact he's kind of a douche (at least all his stuff has been on field, so that's good), and the last few seasons before last. Last season he showed what he can do with a good number 1 in Keenan Allen, and an Offensive Line that actually gets in the way of the defense. I can't believe I'm defending Rivers like this.

More on Andy Only 2 years are guaranteed. Team option from the third year onward. I just need to quote this to re-emphasize to the people still complaining about the Dalton, Jay Cutler, or Joe Flacco contracts. Hardly any of the money that you see in the reported deals is real. Few of the years are actually guaranteed. Yes, Andy Dalton signed a contract that, if he hits every escalator, every benchmark, and every incentive, would be worth upwards of $115 million over six years, but after the second guaranteed year, the Bengals can just cut him loose without spending another penny. So yeah, when Russell Wilson's contract expires, he'll probably sign for something like six years, $140 million. But it'll be guaranteed for two or three years and only $30 million or so will be actual dollars.
