Nothing says "BET" like a Southern, mostly white wrestling promotion with a "good ol' boy" environment and like 4 black dudes on the roster. and 3 of them are in one group

Its definitely possible, but I'm not reading too much into this right now. I think the writing is on the wall. TNA wants to stay afloat, Spike is helping them as best they can by putting off confirmation of anything. If they say "negotiations are ongoing" it gives TNA a little bit of leverage when shopping for a new channel. It also doesn't help Spike b/c if they say "yea, its cancelled ok bai" then they'll lose even more viewers and ad revenue. They won't confirm until they absolutely have to, probably sometime in August/early September would be my guess.

Look at the calendar. If they are still talking they don't have much time, do they?

I wonder if the ongoing negotiations has entirely to due because Dixie is trying to find a way to keep russo on staff. In fact, what if spike's deal is that they can only renew if russo is fired, and Dixie is refusing to do so.

Well, to give some credit, Dave Meltzer wanted to wait it out, and even on the LAW, was pretty much getting info on the spot. This I feel is a really bad shot at Wrestlezone, who were the ones who blew their load before getting all the info. It's still a wait and see deal though. Do you realize what you've unleashed? Hope. Empires have crumbled over the hopes of men. Lives have been lost. Cupcakes have been eaten. Weight gained. I hope you're happy with the choices you've made because there's no turning back from "wait and see."

I'm not surprised Dixie and Spike TV are denying this. For the former it's nothing more than them trying to save face. Dixie is stubborn. She'll never admit defeat until the bitter end, when all hope has been dashed. They're just trying to delay the inevitable so they don't have to admit that they've been turfed until they have no choice. As for Spike TV, they just don't want to admit they got scooped by TMZ. ...and if they get renewed? If they get renewed then I'll gladly admit I was wrong. But the fact that they've waited this long before putting a deal together tells me that Spike TV does not see this as a priority. If they really wanted to keep Impact they would've snatched them back up months ago. Likewise, if they have already offered a deal prior to this then Dixie would be a moron to drag this out. More likely if they do get renewed it's gonna hinge on just how badly Impact wants to stay on there and how drastic of a rights fee cut they're willing to take to make it happen.

Vince Russo booking a show on BET is asking for trouble. Fried chicken and waffles on a pole match.

The New Voice of Manik (formely Suicide) for TNA Ground Zeroes is...
JR: Who could it be? "It's me Austin!" JR: Aw son of a bitch! "It was me Austin! It was me all along Austin!"
One Week Later.... Manik: *unmasks himself* Kept you waiting, huh? Tenay: August 1 Warning?! Identity revealed...as the MMA legend Tito Ortiz!! Mr. Anderson: *scratches his head* Gregory Helms: *tilts head to the left* Booker T: *takes out a picture of Scott Hall* Ric Flair: *looks disappointed at his son David, and the identity of the new Manik*

Dixie trying to save face until the very end. Can't imagine WrestleZone/TMZ/Meltzer/Bauer would bog it up to this degree. I'd imagine the news will be made official in the next few weeks.

Here's what I'm seeing, IF Spike hasn't pulled the plug, I could see the deciding factor being that TNA removes both Russo and Dixie from any position within the company.
They're the 2 biggest detriments to TNA now, and the least able to continue in the industry should TNA fold.
That said, removing Dixie would likely remove Panda's money, and then Spike/Viacom would have to subsidize a greater percent of production.

Paul Heyman was "still in negotiations" with a new network for ECW...and then he showed up on RAW.

Unless it's in a segment where Stephanie slaps her silly, throws her into another pool of muck, and then has her thrown out, never to appear again.

Yeah, it's like everything in this thread has dropped dead all of a sudden. That's actually the perfect visual representation of how things are going for TNA right now.
