His name probably doesn't ring a bell at all. His biggest role (to modern audiences) was playing Nakatomi CEO Joseph Takagi in DIE HARD (the boss guy that Hans Gruber kills). But in reality, he was one of Hollywood's first prominent Asian-American actors, who had a good 40 years of movie and (mainly) TV roles to his name. variety.com/2014/film/news/james-shigeta-dies-at-81-1201270730/Kinda stinks that he's a guy we probably should've known about a lot more before he passed away, but now that he's died we can at least appreciate him much more... He also played the main bad guy in the movie Cage. A movie that everyone needs to see.

Nakatomi. Gotcha. He will not be joining us for the rest of his life. Someone made that comment on my Twitter feed and it completely flew over my head. Seeing it mentioned again reminds me what it was and now I have something else besides the typo to kick myself over. |
