Anyone remember him? Used the F-5 as a finisher. He had one match with Monty Brown. Midway through the match the lights went out and he disappeared, replaced by a masked Mideon.
I know they never explained what that was about on TV but has anyone ever mentioned it in an interview?

Trytan seemed like an idea Dusty had in 1993 that he never had the chance to use so he dusted it off for TNA in 2005. It was pretty terrible.

He'd actually been hanging around TNA before as a Red Shirt Security goon. No idea why they thought giving him that stupid gimmick would work.

I do love that he would get signed by WWE just to wander around the woods

He went into WWE and OVW and became Jacob Duncun as this monster under a mask, and he actually wasn't too bad. You can't just throw guys out like that though and expect them to do well.

I do love that he would get signed by WWE just to wander around the woods I remember Dave Meltzer having a man crush for his gimmick and shocked when WWE fired him.

That match was so bad. The ending was completely nonsensical like he pinned someone else to win the match? And I remember lots of people thought his hype videos were for The Ultimate Warrior. I'm surprised ultimate warrior never sure TNA for that was a blatant rip off of his logo. They were probably like boo yah Ultimate Warrior is busy suing WWE. We can do this!

What happened to Kevin Northcut? Wilson was fired for steroids about a week before Northcutt quit/was fired, then they brought him back as Trytan a year or two later.

It was also a really stupid idea to debut your latest unstoppable monster against the hottest guy in your company who you should've been protecting at all costs. Even if Trytan wasn't incredibly green and managed to put on a good match against Monty Brown, there would still have been no way to end the match in anything resembling a satisfying way.
