I was browsing through the network last night and decided to watch an old Raw from 1995, I'm obviously a masochist.
Anyways, during the show a very young Jeff Hardy got squashed by Waylon Mercy. Looking at it today it's kind of funny that of everyone that had a match on that show Hardy and Sid were the only two that ever held the WWE championship. Sid was prominently featured from the time he arrived in the WWF but it's surprising in retrospect to see how little they cared about Jeff Hardy and what he ended up becoming. From jobber supreme to a guy that could have potentially taken the torch from John Cena as the top face in the WWE. For comparison, Jeff Jarrett, Bam Bam Bigelow, Bob Holly, Henry Godwinn, and the 123 Kid were featured prominently on this episode.
Any other moments like this that you guys have noticed where future superstars were treated as jobbers?

They weren't treated like jobbers, he and Matt were jobbers. I don't have the network let but I know that Foley and Shane Douglas did jobs in 1986 while they were in school under various names. Shane was on a bunch of tapings both as Troy Martin and various other aliases. I think Foley only did two tapings. There is the semi-famous story of Ray Traylor working as a job guy for Crockett in a match against Tully Blanchard where he took slingshot suplex perfectly. It lead to Dusty bringing him as Big Bubba Rogers.

Jeff and Matt were jobbers for years in the WWF.
Both as the Hardy Boyz and under various other gimmicks like Wildo and Ingus Jinx.

Oh God, I have just pictured Matt Hardy in the role of Miss Sandra the seamstress in Total Divas season 20, telling it as it is with his signature sass, whilst producing the Funkadactyls of 2020's ring gear!

If Matt made those carpet fiber pants he wore after he dropped the Keyblade tights, that is the most compelling reason I've ever heard to hate his guts.

Chris Kanyon and Scotty Too Hotty were also jobbers for the WWE at the same as the Hardys. They were on RAW quite often from 1994-1995.

Scotty was there in 1993, I have a VHS with an episode of Wrestling Challenge, he was squashed by none other than Rikishi back in his Headshrinker days in a tag match.
