According to Lionheart, the guy that had his neck broke, AJ didn't actually explain how to take it and just left him to guess. Its a dangerous move has has been sloppy with. Look at PWG BOLA with Myers. That whole match was a bit iffy TBH. Especially the finish. He did not want to be there whatsoever

TNA calling Chavo a legend was hilarious, but I can see why LU would.

i watched impact for 4 years before i gave up and i never saw a styles clash botched. i dont think for one second it was AJs fault Back in the days of early TNA, Styles botched the Clash on Kaz and spiked his head. Working with the same people year in and year out makes you and your opponent quite comfortable with each other. Since he left TNA for good, the number of spiking incidents have gone up. It's a combination of his new set of opponents not being familiar with taking the move and AJ dropping down too soon before his opponent can adjust & brace for impact. Once would normal but he spiked Roderick Strong, Yoshi, and broke Lionheart's neck so far.

I think there are worse finishers than Styles Clash, but as Bad News said other workers aren't used to it like the TNA talent were working with Styles on a regular basis. If I was Styles I would change my finisher to Spiral Tap. Even though it is such a stunning move that it should only be used for special matches I think it would be a worthy replacement for his main finisher now.

He was in ROH around the same time Styles was and he's probably seen the Styles Clash used a thousand times. He should have known how to take it.

IMO, the Hollow Point should be his new finish. At least that way his opponent can protect themselves.

I like the Hollow Point and it has been hit cleaner than the Clash in recent months, but isn't even riskier on the opponents neck if it was to go wrong? Bloody Sunday possibly? Lord knows Balor won't be allowed to use it as a finish in WWE. How about that as a main finish? To my knowledge Balor never hurt anyone with it when it was his main finish
