Let's say WWE set it up on "John Cena" mode, then flashed it on an entire crowd (Cole/Lawler/Vince/wrestlers/refs would wear sunglasses).
From that crowd's point of view, they would be seeing John Cena for the first time in their lives. Would Cena have almost 100% crowd support now that the staleness factor has been erased?
Also, would you use it on yourself so you could enjoy a wrestler again that you're bored of now? I'd probably use it for a guy like Big Show so it'd be like "Wow, look at that huge guy! I bet he could really kick ass!"

Okay, this guy is pretty good but he's kind of sloppy. Is he meant to be heel? Why won't he sell anything? Wait, seriously, that's his finisher?

Use it on Batista and debut him as entertaining as he always gets on his way out.

I thought this was gonna be about Vince's next scheme to make us forget that he once employed a fella named Chris Benoit.

You'd take so much away from Cena without his unique relationship with the crowd, it would be impossible to manufacture the perfect storm that allowed that dynamic to happen. There have also been a fair few that WWE have tried to squeeze into the same mould, as a result he'd seem a bit too similar to somebody like Sheamus but not quite as good in the ring, from that perspective he'd still seem a little stale.
I'd use the device on Del Rio, only about three good memories gone and the chance for him to have a fresh start as a face without the memory of that awful Swagger/Zeb feud, although it would be a waste of the device if went back to the same old heel routine, at least I can see his aggressiveness with fresh eyes.

Does anybody really hate somebody that much that they'd like the memory erased? Really?

I think such a thing was already used on Bam Neely.

What if it meant that people would stop saying "Cena Sucks"?
