I really trust meat that can be ordered, prepared and then served in under sixty seconds

They did that at my local McDonalds around 10-12 years ago, though it was for a coupon for free big sandwich or biscuit product. Their caveat was that they would at least give you part of your order before the 60 seconds. This led them to give you your drink to satisfy that rule. I never ordered a drink and thus I pretty much always got the free coupons.

Actually, to be fair to them it can't take that long to hack a slice off the underside of the giant meat analogue worm they have in the cellar of every McDonalds

There has to be a limit on the quantity of the food right? I can understand doing this for a regular Happy Meal, but not if six college guys order 10 Bic Macs.

The nearest McDonalds is about 60-70 miles away, so I don't eat there much. Last time, they had us pull over to the side int he parking lot, because ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) to wait for our order. It took about 18 mins. It was two big mac meals. Apparently their soda ran out and that was the hold up.

First the self-checkouts at grocery stores, now they're handing ME a timer to time THEM? How lazy can employers be?!

I'd rather just get the correct order. I realize there is a rush but damn, 9 times out of 10, the plain double cheeseburgers I order are never plain.

I would get a lot of free meals if that becomes a reality.

I'd be so pissed if I worked there.
I'm sure those workers are being better compensated to work faster, right?

They've been doing that on and off around here for years.
Not to mention McDonald's (especially corporate owned ones) have a mandated average drive thru time that must be met, regardless if they advertise it or not.
It's why sometimes they'll tell you to move up in front of the building or something in the drive thru... because technically the average time is from when you place an order and when you pull out of the drive thru lane. I have also seen them bring their own cars order a soda and go around a few times to get the times down.

Having worked fast food, it's not that hard to do at lunch time unless some fluke happens like someone orders a bunch of a more obscure item (for us it was the chicken, we kept about 5-6 ready, so if a bunch were ordered, it could take a lot of time). It's fast food, they're not cutting the lettuce and baking the bread from scratch when you order.

That's it for national chain places.
