The health of former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger continues to deteriorate. Luger, 56, is now wheelchair-bound after being able to walk on his own in recent years (with assistance from a cane). The former WWE and WCW competitor appeared at the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Legends Fanfest in Charlotte, North Carolina, over the weekend and was confined to a wheelchair throughout the event. He also had to sign autographs with a pen stuck between his ring and pinky fingers. Luger's health problems stem from a spinal stroke he suffered on October 19, 2007 that led to temporary paralysis. Nearly a month after his spinal stroke, Luger was still in a quadriplegic state, having no movement in either his arms or legs. In June 2008, Luger was said to be able to stand on his own for short periods of time and walk using a walker. In 2010, Luger stated in an interview that he was able to walk more comfortably, and able to drive again.

This is really sad to see. Luger has really conquered his demons over the last several years and emerged a humble and appreciative man. I hate to see that he's deteriorating.

Had no idea he was in this bad of a state. I hope his health improves.

I hope WWE honors him next year at the Hall and that Sting inducts him.

Poor guy, he managed to stay clean his entire career except his final years, he'll forever be tied to the Miss Elisabeth scandal, but once he started to turn a new page this shit happens, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Maybe he's pulling a Todd and using it to beat the queues to meet himself.
Now, every sympathy to Lugar but the use of the word "on" made me picture him balancing on one of the handles doing his pose.

Nice use of "on" instead of "in"! I guess both technically work. The chair wouldn't very well work if you don't sit on it.

Nice use of "on" instead of "in"! I guess both technically work. The chair wouldn't very well work if you don't sit on it. It's a semantic thing. I type this sitting on a chair, not in it. So a guy in a wheelchair is sitting on it, not in it. I'll leave an unrelated story into this. This dude I went to high school with was on a wheelchair. We weren't friends, but if we were together, we'd talk. So friendly? Whatever you want to call it. One day he comes into the place I work and I say to him, across the place and loudly, "Hey! We don't allow your kind in here!" As soon as I said it I realized, "Nobody else in here knows I know him and that probably sounds bad." To me, he was just the dude I went to high school with, I know he's on a chair, but it's so uninteresting to me...
