It seems that most of us here on FAN are very open-minded when it comes to music, which is really awesome. However, no matter how open-minded you are, there's still that one (or however many) genre that you just HATE. But, no matter how much you hate the genre, there might be some bands or artists from that genre that make you think "well, that's just alright".
FAN, what are those bands for you?
I absolutely despise modern country (burning hatred type stuff; I hate it way more than anybody should hate something), but I have to say that I like Brantley Gilbert.
I caught him on some kind of festival AXSTV was showing and I just think he's cool. Not fantastic, but he works for me.
Everybody's got one; who's yours, FAN?

I'll second Civil Wars despite not being into most country (I don't hate it, it's just not my scene). Also Carrie Underwood, some Cash stuff and Ronnie Milsap.

Most modern country is terrible (I'm usually a purist) but I'm loving Zac Brown Band.

I don't care much for Rap or Hip Hop
I do enjoy a bit of Beastie Boys though.

I also despise modern country, but I really like 'If I Die Young' by The Band Perry.

I guess it's technically a sub-genre, but I think Black Metal is the cheesiest shit on the planet and I love Darkthrone.
I also loathe rap, but I love Run DMC, Outkast, and Public Enemy.

I don't hate the genre, but I'm not the biggest Indie rock fan out there. A lot of the time, I think the music is pretentious. With that said, I love Pavement. They're one of my favorite bands, period. I say that as a mostly Extreme Metal(Grindcore, Death, and Thrash) guy.

I'm not into today's country all that much (the guys are like today's wrestlers: interchangeable), but I like Miranda Lambert & Little Big Town. Some of Toby Keith's songs are alright, but I'm not a flag-waving Hacksaw Jim Duggan patriot type.
Funny, because I listen to the local country music station on my way to and from work every morning, but mainly because they have local traffic; as opposed to the Chicago country station, who only covers the expressways up there. I want to know if the drawbridge is up on US 41, not if there's a slowdown on the Circle Interchange.
(On the way home at 6:15pm, they usually have a story behind an artist and an old song, like Alabama's "Mountain Music" or Dolly Psrton's first big hit. I like those.)

I don't consider myself a fan of country at all but for some reason, I will give some female artists a pass and I will admit that there some songs from male country artists that I actually enjoy like "TROUBLE" from Travis Tritt. I tolerate it more than I like it, but I'll give it a listen here and there. I still don't consider myself a fan though.

I can't stand most hip-hop, but I dig the Beastie Boys, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg.
There are only a handful of country artists that I really like, mostly older artists like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakum, Buck Owens, and Don Williams.
Modern pop music is pretty much garbage, but Britney Spears and Selena Gomez are tolerable.

I generally can't stand most pop-punk, but I'm a big Paramore fan, and I also like the Offspring and Green Day (their pre-American Idiot days, anyway).

I don't feel like I hate any genre, yet country is just about the only genre I can think of where there's no songs or artists I really enjoy.

I generally stay away from Top 40/pop music. I see a commercial for the latest NOW compilation and think "I have no idea who these artists are." No joke--some of them I've never heard of before. And yet, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream and Prism are on my iPod. I can't really explain why, I just find her songs so damn catchy. Plus, she did do The Undertaker's entrance theme.

Most modern country is terrible (I'm usually a purist) but I'm loving Zac Brown Band. For me it's because they're more along the classic country-rock lines of The Eagles than bro-country or twang-pop. Though I must admit I like a couple Band Perry songs. I didn't generally like emo pop-rock but did think My Chemical Romance had some good songs, kinda like their anthemic quality.

Johnny Cash is about the beginning and the end of country musicians I like, although there are specific country songs I like as well, like "Man of Constant Sorrow."
