The latest brand of 3D films. I would have expected it to have died out by now, just like it died out as quickly as it came every time it was attempted. I supposed it does help that it actually works and looks good now. Phone Books-Give it up people Um, why? They're still highly convenient. I agree with this. I always assumed that the boom of artists using social media to market themselves would've (and should've) rendered the "win a recording contract" contest shows redundant. "Reality" TV as a whole, really. Do they even keep making money? I guess they have to or else networks would have dropped them but I was under the impression they were becoming less and less popular with each passing year. I started to use one awhile back, when I thought-wait a minute-my phone-i did a search and the number popped up and i just hit the phone icon and i was connected-it might have saved me 20 seconds, but it's a reflex action now

The World Bodybuilding Federation
It's lasted 24 years, draws massive audiences and PPV buys, and has been an enormous success
Last week's episode of WBF Bodystars pulled a 9.4 rating. No one will ever top Gary Strydom's 15 WBF titles.
Amazing.

America's Funniest Home Videos. I thought Youtube and Social media would have killed this off.

Papa John's. Not so much how they're still around, but how they're still commercially viable. Of the major pizza chains, they seem the weakest. Pizza Hut is more established and has more specialty stuff. Dominos has better quality. Papa John's doesn't even post their ingredients despite their slogan touting the quality thereof. I have no idea where they can pull all their sponsorship deals out of, for that matter. They appear to spend even less on labor than the other chains, or at least John himself makes an ass of himself bragging that they pay as little as possible (and sometimes at questionably legal levels).

The tv station Fuse. It's sucked for 7 years now It was actually front page news when J-Lo outbid Puffy for it (just because it sounded like she got revenge or something). Now you would think Jerry Springer would be long gone since nobody has talked about the show in years, but it's still around.Seeing this post I had to look it up, but you're right. I had no clue Jerry Springer was still on. I woulda guessed it went off the air 6 or 7 years ago. Weird.

Sears. Besides their craftsman tools there's no reason for them to be in business still. a lot of people are now boycotting craftsman because there not American made any more. I don't see them lasting much longer

Sears. Besides their craftsman tools there's no reason for them to be in business still. Sears still owns a few noteworthy brand names that they sell exclusively in their stores: Craftsman tools Kenmore appliances DieHard batteries Sears could spin off those brands if they decide to only focus on the K-Mart portion of their business. Bear in mind, they did just that with Discover Financial and Allstate Insurance. It is sort of like how Kodak is still a viable investment, despite the fact that they have had steadily declining sales in all of their business interests. The simple fact of the matter is that the value of the patents that they have is probably worth more than the actual physical assets of the company.

On the pizza debate, it seems like in NYC Pizza Hut has all but disappeared. There's an express one in Downtown Brooklyn and I think there's another one in Queens, but at one point there were like three on Staten Island alone and now there's none. It always surprises me when I come across one when I'm out of the city.
On the other hand Dominos and Papa Johns have a very healthy presence throughout the city, usually one within blocks of the other. I prefer Papa John's simply because their delivery guys never have a problem using my apartment buildings lobby intercom whereas the Domino's drivers seem to act like you need a masters degree in Nuclear Physics to get it to work.
Little Caesar's are also kinda scarce throughout the city but they've always been that way.
I really wish they'd up open a Hungry Howie's up here. I went to one in Delaware and while the pizza was a little greasy, man was it tasty.

I know that in Brookhaven the Dairy Queen is packed every Wednesday and Sunday with the Church crowd. Then Fridays and Saturdays it is packed with kids. Dairy Queen offers good quality fast food and traditionally has a more innovative menu then most other big time fast food chains like McDonalds or Burger King, which seems to be key to the survival of fast food places nowadays. I'm surprised it's not more popular then it is. For fast food places we're surprised are still around I'm always amazed whenever I see a Roy Rogers while traveling. I remember they were a solid number three behind McDonalds and Burger King when I was a kid in the NYC area in the 80's, but completely disappeared by the time I became a teenager. Up until a couple of years ago when I stumbled across one on the NYS Thruway I assumed the whole company went out of business. I'm also surprised to discover there are still a few Ground Round's and Farrell's floating around out there. Again, when I was a kid they used to be the big restaurants in the Staten Island Mall and every kid would want to have their birthday at them. And again, they both disappeared before I was even a teenager.
