I really hope this gets funded. Never played it, but would like to.
Also, not what I thought it would be. At first I thought it would be a whole remake, but I suppose there is something decidedly '80s about the whole thing.

Kind of like the 90's not really ending until 9/11. Unlike that, though, 80's culture doesn't seem to have a formal start/stop point. Maybe something between the start of Home Improvement (the most 90's TV show of them all) and the end of the Cosby Show (one of the last 80's TV juggernauts) would be a good milestone, but even that's not really concrete because certain things (especially late 80's fashion) bled over into 1993 or 1994.

Late 91 early 92 was the beginning of early 90's culture. Due to stuff like this.

It was even said so in the Kickstarter video.

Home Improvement was mid-91, Nevermind was mid-91; yeah, that's when it feels like the 90's definitely started. In some ways though, it's like the 80's weren't really over either.
Night Trap is a really good example of bridging that gap: the basic plot is very 80's in nature, but the setting (a big ubiquitous single home in the suburbs) feels decidedly 90's. I think that's as interesting as the gameplay mechanics.
EDIT: I'm watching the gameplay right now, and the soundtrack and fashion are both 80's. If the thing about it being filmed in 86 is true, I'm not surprised. But I wonder, why did they wait so long? Did the game really take 7 years to develop?

f*** no.
The game was terrible and was much a perfect example of why interactive movie games sucked.

The game it was original for got canceled. also *language warning* www.thecinemasnob.com/the-cinema-snob/night-trap
