Gene Simmons has always been one of the worst humans walking the planet. He's a no-talent hack in a band without talent that became popular due to their gimmick. The same band that has no issue with ripping off their fans on a consistent basis. Basically, f*** Gene Simmons and anything he says. Hmm, I disagree with the majority of this post. Gene's a dick, yes, but the argument about the gimmick always leaves out the fact that some fans, like me, actually enjoy the band for their music as well as the theatrics. The ripping off fans confuses me, as well, because all of the KISS merch I've bought I've bought because I wanted it; they put out a lot of shit, but the merchandise argument always seems to go hand in hand with the ridiculous "real music" argument that some seem to want to bring up all the time. Like I said, not disagreeing about the points about Gene, but KISS has nothing to do with this.

Gene can still screw off, but I love a bunch of KISS songs and I can't see myself ever stop listening to them anytime soon.

I usually understand exactly where he's coming from, even if I don't agree with it. But one thing's for certain:
For a guy whose biggest motivator is making money, he sure knows how to say some things that will prevent himself from doing so.

KISS, during my teen years was my favourite band, over the years shit like this had made it increasingly hard to enjoy their music. I was done with the band a few months ago, hearing this shit just makes me that much happier to move on.

Take away the makeup, the theatrics and the sizzle (pro wrestling fans are complaining about a show or entertainment that is ridiculously over the top?) and KISS might well be more highly regarded, by some, as a great power pop band alongside that genre's leaders like the Raspberries or Big Star. All four of the classic members knew how to craft melodic, hook-filled songs with killer riffs (Gene's first musical heroes were the Beatles). Want proof that classic KISS music holds up as music without the glitz and glamor? Check out their episode of Unplugged, specifically the full length performance which is on the KISSOlogy Vol 3. Set.

Gene is a pompous cashgrabbing lame-o.
Even if you LOVE Kiss, you have to understand that he sucks.
If he outlives his bandmates, he would prop up their skeletons and lip synch "Lick It Up" to get paid.
He's a faux intellectual too, so that's irritating. It's not that he's uninformed, it's that he's a sociopathic dope that gets a little chunk of something and decides he's an authority.
If he were a wrestling heel, he'd be amazing, but he's an actual man-child.

Agreed, though vocal-wise i much prefer the Paul or Ace-sung songs (Only Gene song i kind of like is Unholy, only Peter song i like is Hard Luck Woman, and most of what the other ones did was mediocre at best).

Paul was one of rock's greatest singers, for sure!
