Saw Winter Soldier last night, EVERY car was a Chevrolet, in fact there is a scene where an entire army can't seem to break in to a Chevrolet. I even expected Samuel L Jackson to at one point shout out "Thank God I'm inside the snug but sturdy interior of a Chevrolet". Shameless.
Not so much a movie but amongst it's numerous crimes, "The Big Bang Theory" is completely shameless in it's constant product placement. My favourite being where they try and awkwardly shoe-horn "Donkey Kong Jenga" into a discussion about Howard's relationship problems.

Batman and Robin the creditcard/american express The Thomas Crown Affair - Rene Russo drinking a can of Pespi (i think its Pepsi one!) for about a full minute on screen, whilst we just stare at her.... Demolition Man where all the restaurants of the future are taco bell. oh and independence day with the mac power book. and lets not forget ET and his reeces pieces. I believe they changed it to Pizza Hut for the EU theatrical release, although on telly it's always been the Taco Bell version.

Back to the Future 2 is a product placement in itself!

90210 wants you to buy a tablet.
I can't imagine how agonizing writing something like this has to be for a writer.

Man of Steel....watch as Zod destroys an IHOP! Then a 7-Eleven! Then a Sears!!!!
The Transformers series and GMC...which led to meddling in several characters' vehicle modes.

Not a movie, but this may be the greatest and most blatant product placement of all time:

Question
Has anyone here ever bought something because of product placement? Have you ever seen something like Adam Rose pimping the WWE product of the week and thought, "you know, Adam Rose is right. I'm gonna go get a Subway"?
Personally, product placement puts me off buying products. I don't mind things like a Cola sign in the background or a guy using an IPod since it doesn't detract from the movie and adds to the realism. But when a scene is devoted to the product or it actually impacts the plot (Pepsi saving the day in World War Z) then f*** them. I'm not buying the product.

If I see the Pizza Hut logo in the background I think "I could sure go for some pizza right about now". It doesn't even have to be brand name products.

Dr Pepper in the American cut of 'Return of Godzilla/Godzilla 1984/1985' (wow so many slashes, so many alt titles)
A vending machine is so prominently displayed in one of those useless Pentagon scenes. Later a useless character nervously drinks some Dr Pepper.

It's kinda sad how easy my brain is to influence.

No worse...I saw OCULUS because of the segment where he looks in the mirror and becomes a lemon!

Another vote for I, Robot. It was so blatant it wasn't even funny.
