Sometimes I feel bad for Rosa. She's absolutely terrible at her job, but she seems nice and I can't remember one bad story about her personally. And now she's mostly known for possibly using sex for job security (that and botching).

Rosa Mendes is employed in wrestling. Beth Phoenix is not. That's just wrong beth retired by choice. and had a baby earlier this year.

I don't hate Rosa as a person, she seems like a nice enough person.
Andrew is Good once put the case that she's probably the most worthless hire in WWE history. Looking through WWE history, I can't say that I disagree with him.

I find it depressing that at the end of the year, it'll be six years that she has been on the main roster which was the number of years that Trish AND Lita were on the main roster.
Yes, Rosa Mendes will soon have a longer WWE career than Hall of Famers, Trish Stratus and Lita.

That interview has a sad undertone to it. From the "never won a match" bombshell to the fact that she doesn't even have a Total Divas storyline to pimp (instead going for the generic, "there'll be tears and laughter") it just all seems...kinda sad. This is her big opportunity to finally be of use to the company, but what if she botches this too? Maybe that's going through her head.
She's sounds so proud to be wrestling four matches a week. They're tag matches where, guaranteed, she's the one in the ring the least amount of time. She had her best televised match last month against Naomi and it was pretty blah for a Naomi match. Eight years in a job and nothing to show for it.
God, I kinda want her to succeed with this now otherwise she's had one of the most depressing WWE careers ever.

Rosa had being an "intern" for Beth Phoenix, being Zack Ryder's valet back when he sorta kinda mattered, and managing Primo and Epico who were the tag team champions at the time. Why should she get anything else when she really hasn't shown any glimpse of improving while other performers both male and female who actually work hard rot in obscurity?

Why should she get anything else when she really hasn't shown any glimpse of improving while other performers both male and female who actually work hard rot in obscurity? I was listing good/noteworthy things, and none of those things were any good (which is likely why they were all quietly dropped, though Ryder/Rosa could have worked and was probably the closest to a highlight her career has had). And I'm first to point out Rosa's dreadfulness, and don't think she should have lasted past her first year really, but it just seems so sad that she has nothing to show for all the years she's been there. A few dropped (half hearted) storylines and looking forward to winning a match in her eighth year?! Maybe Total Divas could open the door to some other reality show crap which she could move on to. This seems like it's gonna lead to her getting a win over either Paige or AJ though. Prepare now people.

The solution is simple. Just stick Rosa and Michael Hayes on Smackdown doing an exact spot for spot recreation of the current Brie Bella/Daniel Bryan story, with Michael struggling to win his first championship and Rosa refusing to leave his side, then him being injured and Rosa going into Rose Mode. It's not like anyone who would care watches Smackdown. Vince certainly doesn't.

I'm gonna say it.
I like Rosa.
She's a goddamn abortion in the ring, but she always seems so earnest about wrestling it's hard to not like her. Some people will just never be any good at what they want to do, but bless them for trying.

How inconsistent must Michael Hayes' influence be if he can have Rosa be employed for 6+ years but can't get her one singles victory?

Hey, Freebird can get her into the club, but he can't get her into VIP. That said, how much do you bet her first singles win is over Paige via interference from AJ, as revenge for her costing AJ those matches against Eva Marie?

Some people will just never be any good at what they want to do, but bless them for trying. I can understand liking someone in spite of their limitations. But it still kind of bugs me how she gets so much TV time in spite of seemingly never improving just because of her relationship with Michael Hayes I've said it before, but it seems like no one can get by on being "pretty good" anymore. To me it seems that if you aren't a totally amazing wrestling dynamo, you have to be laughably bad to have any sort of "value" and that doesn't sit well with me.

She wants an actual singles victory? Put her in a match with Eva Marie on Raw. Have Paige doing commentary and have AJ come down to watch. The Paige/ AJ shenanigans upstage the match, where Rosa wins via rollup.

Is Rosa the most pointless WWE employee ever?
8 years and she hasn't won a match. She hasn't done anything memorable. I can't remember ONE single thing she has done. Not one match, one promo, one skit, one segment, one throwaway moment. I'm sure there must be something she's good at (wink, wink)but in the WWE she's done absolutely nothing to warrant being hired for 8 years.
