Can they change his name too? I always accidentally type his name as 'Ronan' If he dressed up and acted like Ronan the Accuser, he'd have less haters.

They're both great moves for him, they just shoudn't be used back to back the way they are. One of them could happen earlier in the match as a nearfall, and the other can be his finish. I agree. Just move the superman punch to a midmatch nearfall instead of a setup for his finisher, and problem solved.

I don't think anything will ever beat the stupidity of Orton's power-slam somehow being a setup for his rope-hang DDT which is somehow a setup for the RKO.
His opponent is literally rolling around all over the place for absolutely no reason except to conveniently put themselves in place to take his next move.

He should pick one or the other. I like the Superman Punch, it looks awesome, but it should be finishing matches, not setting up for the spear. Have it be more "OUTTANOWHERE!" and have him actually get the pin with it.

His opponent is literally rolling around all over the place for absolutely no reason except to conveniently put themselves in place to take his next move. To be fair, he only started doing that when he became face and entered standard "WWE main event face needs a finishing sequence" mode. When he was a heel, the rope DDT looked more natural. He usually seemed to hit in some variation of hitting his opponent when they were climbing through the ropes, on the ropes or on the ring apron and dragging them through the middle ropes to hit it. It was only when he turned face that he started with the stupid set-up version.

I just wish the Superman punch was his finisher. It's the coolest looking thing in his arsenal.

It's the only two things that bother me about him.

The punch should be the finisher.
The spear is overused anyway and no one has ever done it as well as Goldberg

I don't get why the Superman punch isn't his finisher.
I mean if Roman jumps up, puts all of his weight into his fist and hits me with it, I'm dead. Why does he need to keep doing moves?

I like the spear better as a finisher, but I do agree that it needs to be parsed out from the Superman punch. Have him do the punch out of nowhere to start his big comeback - then you can even build matches around guys trying to stop him from doing it.

I don't think this is petty Roman Reigns hate, there is a legitimate point here. I think The Superman Punch should not have a "wake-up taunt" and work almost like a Clothesline From Hell. It's like if Randy Orton started banging the mat before throwing the guy in the ropes for the DDT, then doing the taunt again for the RKO. It is a bit redundant. The Spear should get the cool build-up.

Spear should be his finisher then the Super punch be a rare punt kick/burning hammer thing where once the move is hit it's over.

How about the Superman Punch basically causes the opponent to be out on their feet, then Reigns runs off the ropes to hit the Spear to finish them off? That way he doesn't need to do the "wait for you to get up, knock you down, wait for you to get up again" and can instead just do both as like a super-finisher.

For me the problem with both the Spear and Superman Punch is that "Why doesn't he just do the one that IS his finisher?". It would be like John Cena picking someone up on his shoulders and then doing a Samoan Drop instead of the AA.

His moveset is still that of a tag-team wrestler, lots of hard-hitting stuff with little build-up because he used to have Ambrose and Rollins to do that for him.

This is also kind of my problem with the jumping clothesline Reigns has used since it's pretty much setup exactly as the superman punch. ... and why doesn't Batman dance any more.

To me what's stupid is even calling it a superman punch.
A superman punch involves putting the leg forward and throwing it back while hopping and punching, acting as both a kick fake and adding extra momentum to the punch.
Just punching while airborne is not a "superman punch".
Also he has to do both the punch and the spear to fill time. What if he only did one or the other on a per match basis? If he doesn't do one then he lost 25% of his moveset. Maybe he can use some of Nash's X division moves.

Everytime I watch a Roman Reigns match I usually enjoy it up until the point Michael Cole shouts, "SUPERMAN PUNCH".
My gripe is with the name of the move, petty I know. But justified.

More than likely neither Reigns nor creative have any idea there is an actual move called a superman punch. They likely named it that because Reigns is airborne. Should just be a "Superpunch"
