Ehh its pro wrestling. It looks close enough I think complaining about the name seems nitpicky

In the context of wrestling it's close enough. I mean: is the real version exaggerated rasslin version.

AJ Styles' Springboard Flying Forearm Smash looks more like something I would want to call a Superman Punch.

I agree.... Reigns telegraphs all his moves and it just doesn't come across as natural. The superman punch should be an out of nowhere comeback move. Like, he ducks a clothesline, punches the ground, turns and hits his opponent with the punch on the rebound.
It's why his weaknesses were hidden so well in the Shield cuz while everyone else was doing their stuff, he was setting up his moves.... so they all looked impactful and awesome. But, when all eyes are on him... it looks like everything takes forever to set up and execute.

God it was bad enough in the last man standing with Kane, i thought it was just a botch. It makes no sense as a move sequence. Which is odd because Reigns is the king at hitting the right move at the right time to get maximum crowd pop.

To be fair, GSP's is more of a superman jab, this is a proper one: Of course, then you have this shit, which is awesome:

I would mark the hell out if he had a match that went like this
*Opponent entrance* *Reigns Entrance* *Opponent tries to sucker clothesline reigns* *Reigns ducks and bounces off the ropes and hits Superman punch* *Pin* *walks to the back*

I'm not the only one bothered that he's still got the Shield music and attire, am I? I feel like, in contrast to Rollins's Batman look, Reigns should be wearing blue and red. Also, the Spear should only be his desperation finisher from out of nowhere. His main finish should be the Superman punch because A) it looks cooler and B) a setup move shouldn't have a wake up taunt.

Really all of them kept something of it. Rollins gear is the same style, different material. Ambrose spent a lot of the last months of the Shield wearing a hoodie The five knuckle shuffle has a taunt. I'm sure there's some others. There numerous moves that require setup and are individuals signatures. Sheamus's ten beats of the Bodhran. Wade's boot to a guy set up in the ropes no one seems to remember the powerbomb as a potential Reigns finisher

To me what's stupid is even calling it a superman punch. A superman punch involves putting the leg forward and throwing it back while hopping and punching, acting as both a kick fake and adding extra momentum to the punch. Just punching while airborne is not a "superman punch". Also he has to do both the punch and the spear to fill time. What if he only did one or the other on a per match basis? If he doesn't do one then he lost 25% of his moveset. Maybe he can use some of Nash's X division moves. More than likely neither Reigns nor creative have any idea there is an actual move called a superman punch. They likely named it that because Reigns is airborne. Should just be a "Superpunch" considering that Kofi's springboard punch was called the Superman punch before Reigns debuted his I'd say that's certain

The spear is cool. However what makes the spear great is the unpredictability of it. That's lost when the Superman Punch is always before it.

I still like Reigns the same as I always have, but I think he could another signature grapple move of some sort besides the Samoan Drop. Possibly his original NXT finisher, but it might be too similar to what Cena does to set up the Five Knuckle Shuffle... www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Yfq4MSPD8
