www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152586273718168They just posted this little teaser video on their Facebook; I can't embed it, though. I've been a massive, massive fan of BB since my cousin showed me them way back in '02, so I couldn't possibly be more stoked that we're FINALLY getting new stuff from them! WHAT A STORY TO WAKE UP TO!!

This is one band I've never gotten all the fuss over. They just sound like every other generic post-grunge band from the early/mid 2000s to me. Admittedly, that is a genre I've always hated, so that might have something to do with it, but yeah.
Regardless, that's cool news for fans of the band, and I'm happy for them.

Valid point; they don't sound super unique within their genre. However, one thing that, in my eyes, makes them stand head and shoulders above the rest is the catchiness of their songs. It's very rare you come across a Breaking Benjamin song that isn't catchy as all hell, and they're a band where I can listen to an album front to back and not get bored or want to change the song; I can't even say that for KISS. So, yeah, that's the main reason I like them so much. Incredibly well crafted songs that always bring with them a huge hook that keeps you coming back. They're not particularly unique, necessarily, but there's something about them that's just different.

I have always remembered them as the "Day of Reckoning band". FIREFLYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyy WON'T YOU SHIIIIINE YOUR LIGHT?! See my first contact with the band was a survival horror game for PS2 called RLH:Run Like Hell. It used Home and another song I can't think of at this moment from them.

This threads title confused the f*** out of me.
I was wondering how "breaking bad" could be back (I think it was the "bitches" and the breaking), then I thought maybe its about Better Call Saul, then I remembered reading something earlier about some video of bryan cranston and aaron (damn I've forgot his last name)
Paul
Then I reread it and thought "what a strange typo, someones autocorrect on their phone must be f***ed"
I've finally got it though.
not sure what I've added to the conversation here. I have nothing to say about Breaking Benjamin.

Yay...long live post-grunge *sarcasm*
I thought "Diary of Jane" was okay, but I never got the fuss over them. They sound just like that band Theory of a Hinderback to me.
If you like 'em, that's cool...but I never got 'why' they were 'cool', while other post-grunge bands were not.

Basically the lead singer got pissed over a remix of Blow Me Away being released sued two members and also didn't want their best of to be released

I was hoping for a dark remake of The Graduate where they really go into how creepy the stuff with Benjamin stalking Elaine is.

Not sure about the genre-labeling (In this case what exactly counts as "post-grunge"), but there is definitely a significant difference between them and the likes of Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, and Hinder. I always thought their sound was closer to the likes of Disturbed, which is most often regarded as "nu metal". Then again, not like that genre gets much appreciation anyway either.

I'm happy about this. Breaking Benjamin is one of my favorite bands. I think they have a great sound but I'm a fan of quite a few bands that could be labeled "post-grunge" I guess.

Eh. I liked them when I was 15 or 16. That was nearly ten years ago.

Kind of like when Geoff Tate went around calling his band Queensryche until they made him cut it out in court
