Joey Styles is going to rip someone's eye out of its socket if anyone messes with Tom. Is Joey a known Tom Phillips mark?

First, I'd invent cloning technology.
Raw- Regal/Regal/Renee SD- Regal/Regal/Renee

Ugh why'd they let Josh go and keep this guy? Josh has an identifiable voice this guy just sounds so bland.

Serious question: Was Tom Phillips not the one they let go? That was Josh Matthews. The guy who had been with the company forever. Nah, the other guy they let go, who I know realise was Tony Dawson. Tony Dawson, right?

Im not into American sports much but Id kill for just the sound of your average American sports broadcaster over what we got now in WWE (and what we've had for years). I think JR transcended this perfectly, he was professional enough to put it over as real but "rasslin" enough to call it just right. In saying this I havn't heard Tom Phillips (or probably have but have no memory of him) but Im guessing he's in the typical WWE mold. The recent discussion about Coach made me want him back on WWE tv.
Edit: Post 1234, I just popped myself.

If only Scott Stanford would leave his news gig to come onboard full-time...

Not a fan of his work, but Congrats to him for advancing.

I really like Tom, and liked his work with Byron Saxton on the B-shows. They were informative, intelligent, and never took attention away from the show. Hopefully Phillips brings that to SmackDown as well.
Also Josh Mathews was the worst (well, besides Tony Dawson), he had an annoying voice and acted like Michael Cole Jr.

He's pretty inoffensive, but not particularly interesting either on this SD.
I suppose it'll take some time for him to find a groove with Cole and JBL, we'll see.

I thought Tom was fine, but sometimes it's hard to tell him and Michael Cole apart. Is that just me?

Ugh why'd they let Josh go and keep this guy? Josh has an identifiable voice this guy just sounds so bland. Not just bland, generic. I legitimately couldn't tell the difference between Cole and Phillips that first hour. He's nondescript. You couldn't pick him out of a line-up of one. I guess inoffensive would be the most positive way to describe Tom Phillips. He's like milk toast, or congee. He's basically white noise.

There, Tom Phillips gets his own thread, person who whined last time whose name I forgot.
Cool for him, and I hope he grows into the role. I admit, I never liked Josh Matthews on commentary, and that's as someone who liked him a lot on Tough Enough.

On the flip side of this, when does JBL's current deal expire? It wouldn't surprise me to see him hang it up again before too long.

They should have hired Todd Keneley, he was awesome in the brief time he was in TNA. Great voice, very knowledgeable, former USC Football player. Has a Joey Styles-type of voice.

Last time he left cause of Vince yelling in his ear, but much like King, that may not be happening as JBL would likely just walk. That or because he came back as a favour when King had his heart attack.
