I felt pretty blase about the song the first time, but warmed to it on a second listen.

I liked their first two albums. After that it went downhill. All my siblings (3 + me) were huge fans during the early 2000's. Now, not so much. I'm actually pretty much the opposite. I'm not fond of the self-titled or Iowa at all. I think a great deal of that has to do with Corey's lyrics being awful on those first two albums, and improving significantly with The Subliminal Verses. I also think their songwriting got a lot better, but yeah.

Really like The Devil And I after hearing it a few times but not really sold on The Negative One yet just sounds too much like Pulse of The Maggots to me.
That said I'm just happy we're getting another Slipknot album after 6 years and Paul Gray's death. There's not many bands nowadays that I get excited about releasing new albums but Slipknot is one of them. Really got me into the heavier side of metal music.

They aren't terrible now or anything, but their newer stuff just doesn't have that same feeling and intensity. And to me at least, a lot of it is just sort of forgettable.

Did they seriously just replace Joey with a drum machine? Maybe they should have waited til they replaced him to record the new album?

I LOVE The Subliminal Verses and their last one was pretty great as well. Actually, I'm pretty pumped about this and I've been listening to this song for a bit now. And the video is just cray-cray.
