Did anyone here actually like the music of Creed? I thought their first two albums were good, if a bit generic. However, I, like most Americans got really sick of "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open" around 2000, and what i heard of the third album sounded pretty much like nothing but overblown ballads. I did hear good things about their "comeback" album Full Circle, but Alter Bridge was still much better (and not just because they did Edge's theme song).

Oddly enough, the most recent song I listened to on YT was from Creed. So, yeah. I probably couldn't listen to those two overplayed songs you mentioned today. But they've got good stuff.

Not really. I always thought the band was talented, but Scott Stapp is kind of the worst.
Alter Bridge, on the other hand, is goddamn amazing.

I still love "Higher".
"My Own Prison", "One" and "What's This Life For" are their best songs though.

I liked 'My Sacrifice', only because of those old WWE videos.

Creed is amazing and reminds me more of my childhood than any other band. Like slickness said, Creed got and gets way more flak than they deserve.

I'll admit it freely. Not my favorite but I liked their stuff. I can't listen to "with eyes wide open" anymore. It never made sense until the words lined up with something touchie in my own life and I just don't like to hear it anymore. I hear Higher and I remember advertisements for Titan AE. The movie wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either. I just enjoyed how five seconds in they pulled a huge shocker and nobody saved the day. Most movies before that always had a savior or ret-conned so they didn't have to do the unthinkable.

Agree that Alter Bridge is definitely better, but Creed has a lot of good songs, too. Not too fond of their two biggest hits (Higher and With Arms Wide Open) though.
While I can understand most of the major criticism against them, it seems the widespread hate, much like with Nickelback, was more of a "meme" than genuine disdain.

Not my thing so much, but Alter Bridge is neat. I like them more than a lot of bands people shit on. Let's be real, they're no Brokencyde.
Also, My Sacrifice was perfect for the WWE video packages.

They had some decent album tracks too, like In America and Unforgiven (from My Own Prison) and Beautiful and Faceless Man (from Human Clay).

What If and My Sacrifice are great songs. They're not an underrated gem or anything, but I think Stapp's posturing gave them a worse rep than they deserved.

They were okay. Nothing great, nothing terrible.
Fun fact: I once pretended like Creed was the shit so that I could get it on with this chick that was into them.

I'm like the Michael Keaton in The Other Guys of Creed references.
