I really do. The pressure that's put on you is enormous. Is anyone else here an only child?

You would say the opposite if you were a sibling

I know that I certainly felt the way you did when I was younger, but I realize that my folks were just looking out for me. It's hard to explain. It's just a terrible feeling you have where you want to live up to all your parents' expectations but know you can't and won't ever. I don't mean to unload all of this on you all or get sympathy because I don't want or need any. It's just something I have to get off of my chest. -Kelly

Having brothers and sisters is awesome. You should try it. You can do anything with them, go to the park, have dinner, play video games, sometimes the older ones buy you stuff. Yeah if I had to choose between not having siblings and having siblings...I'd choose to have siblings. Family Reunions would suck without family that's around your age.

Ah, that "expected perfection" thing isn't limited to only children. I think everyone gets that from their folks.
And on the subject, I'm willing to sell you my brother. He's got no highway miles on him and can cook. But you have to put up with a lot of quirks, not the least of which is a fussy appetite and constant moaning about never having had a lunch box in school. (I don't know WHERE the hell he grew up, but it wasn't with me.)

My siblings were so much older than me that part of my life was spent as a only child. Heck, when I started first grade, my sister started teaching first grade. I never felt any pressure because my sister was the goodie-goodie in the family and my brother had done everything to test my parents patients that it was hard to ever screw up as he did. I mean, who really thinks it a good idea to bring a sling shot for athletics day @ a catholic school. Trouble always found my brother too.

ZING! by Tmiz. Catfight!
K ya pervs I was kidding calm down.. if they do decide to go no holds barred I'm promoting the thing as I thought of it.
I have a lil sis, we fought like crazy when we were younger, but I do dig it more than the alternative of being an only child I think.
I also had a lunchbox as a kid.. it was the metal kind, He-man and the Masters of the Universe complete with thermos. It ruled.
