Giant Gonzalez was far better than 1991 Andre, sadly. Bless him, he could barely move by this point. I have an AJPW elbow drop etched into my mind where he slowly drops onto his hand and gently places his elbow on his opponent.

Andre: "It was me Austin, it was ME all along!" If he would have been healthy and this would have been his surprise return after a 5-6 years hiatus... this would have been HUGE. Wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense, but heh. JR's reaction would have went from "Awww, son of a bitch!" to a very audible gasp.

Even if he was healthier, and even if in some alternative reality he was a little bit younger, I don't think he would have been long for the WWF. He was just not a guy who was going to be a regular-roster performer. He wasn't going to wrestle on monthly PPVs, or on TV every week. He would have wrestled in Japan, Mexico, may even ECW for a bit, if they could afford him. He would have wrestled on his terms, on his schedule, which wan't going to work in the WWF forever.

Andre as WWE commissioner announcing a bra and panties match would have been interesting.

I think people are forgetting how intelligible Andre was. "It were we Austin Steven, me along all time".
