Regal
He's had personal problems. But never really any issues with other wrestlers. I know he had a fight with Van Halen and almost with Big Show, but that was caused by them been disrespectful to other wrestlers rather than a problem with Regal.
Heard nothing but good things about the man.

First one I thought of was Lance Storm... I'm sure a few people have some choice words about Lance Storm regarding his comments about charity during newLegacy's 24 hour live stream a few weeks ago. that, and he promotes anti-psychiatry websites run by scientology. edit: to be fair, a ton of major groups operating as non-profits are indeed bogus, but he's of the attitude ALL of them are, which is just as bogus.

What about Kevin Von Erich? It may just be that people feel really bad for him, these days, but I can't think of anyone saying anything bad about him. He even seems to be a little detached from all those, 'the Von Erich boys were crazy and did whatever they liked' stories. There was a report on the dirtsheets at the time about a memorial card for Kerry (with proceeds to Kerry's daughters) and that Kevin was the only participant who demanded to be paid (meaning, everyone else had wrestled for free, including the Freebirds.)

Never heard anyone say that Mark Henry is anything but a sweetheart.
And not really a wrestler, bit Vickie Guerrero seems pretty universally liked.

Never heard Martel speak ill of anybody but Tom Zenk, and VERY,VERY lightly Verne (And that was more criticism about how he was behind the times, which is like saying the sky is blue)
Actually, I've never heard anybody speak ill of Martel asides from Tom Zenk.
So I guess, outside of Zenk, everybody is cool with Martel and Martel is cool with everybody. I have him as 2nd to Molly as far as least criticized wrestler.

Well that's crappy, as are the other things said about him in this thread. I guess my thought about people not wanting to say too much bad about him because they feel sorry for him has some merit, then.

I will say this in his defense, however; most reports of him are as someone who did not view wrestling with quite the same level of passion as did his brothers, and who always gave some thought to life after his days in the ring were over. I don't think he should necessarily be criticised for that.

Married with kids (and still married, with grandkids now), not obviously wracked with the same demons as his brothers were. And, as you say, he was able to step away from wrestling when he didn't want to do it any more. But they did make an effort to show that his first love was football, and wrestling was something of a fallback. Like it seems to have been for quite a few wrestlers' kids.

I'm sorry, but after the fourth of fifth one of these types of posts, I have to point it out. If you say so-and-so is one of the wrestlers no one speaks ill of ... and then say, "except for that whole _____ thing," then you're turning the thread title into something totally different than what it says. This thread might as well be called, "Guys Who Aren't Total Douches Like _____ Was." I'm not saying that to be a turd; I just clicked on the thread because I thought it would be interesting to hear some legit names "no one speaks ill of" in an industry full of people who don't understand how to be anything but a jerk at some point in their careers. But there are already several mentions of people who don't fit the thread title because everyone wants to say "except for that one thing they did." That statement right there already eliminates them from the discussion. Just because you like a guy and want him to be part of the thread title doesn't mean that he/she is. Anyway, sorry I didn't contribute much, but it was just a frustration to click on an interesting thread title with lots of potential and then seeing apologists veer from what the thread title says. (I ain't mad at nun'ya. I'm just saying it's frustrating. This isn't the only thread where stuff like this happens. If I stayed silent, then the trend will only continue. Just hoping for a little "think before you post" motivation.) Seeing the name Kane makes sense. At one point up until recent years, easily my most hated character in wrestling (because I always thought it was so beyond stupid, yet they shoved it down viewers' throats) but it seems like people don't have anything negative to say about the actual man himself. Kudos for some other name drops I've seen that I didn't consider. but if it's just one thing done to one person the reason they're spoken ill of could be because the person doing the talking is the ass

But, and I'll dump a little on PegasusWarrior's comment here, I enjoy these threads precisely because there's always discussion. If we were to follow the discussion title as the Ultimate Rule of Discussion, we'd get a whole bunch of "Yep, I agrees" and the thread gets buried before the first page is full. Let us bring the stories forward and fill in the narrative about these people; that's the higher aim of such threads.

Never heard anything bad about Jimmy Hart. That little pipsqueak? He was always interfering in his guys matches, getting up on the apron to be a distraction, tossing his megaphone in to be used for a weapon! That little runt was a walking advertisement for birth control if I've ever seen one.

I can't recall ever hearing anyone having problems with Booker or Stevie Ray. How about Disco Inferno?

I don't think I've ever seen anyone rip on Sting outside of his age. Gary Hart said he was very difficult to work with (calling him "an egotistical, arrogant ass"), during the Muta feud and before a proposed angle for a feud with Al Perez that never got off the ground. According to Hart, Sting would make fun of Dusty Rhodes when he wasn't around, mostly about being fat, but then kiss his ass when he was there. He also said that Sting used to amuse himself by walking through the airport mocking the mentally handicapped. Of course, he also made it a point to state that he hadn't been around Sting since but had heard that he had changed.

I'll have to rewatch it, but the Sting documentary TNA put out years ago did have Sting admitting to being a less than stellar guy before he found religion, so I'm sure there's some truth to the above.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say crap about Sting's attitude. I'm not calling Gary a liar, but it seems like to me if Sting was THAT bad that you'd hear about it a lot more. Compare to Luger, who came up at the same time, who takes a lot of abuse by his contemporaries for his attitude.
