Earthquake was just a fat guy in the crowd that was pulled into the ring during a push-ups contest between Dino Bravo and Ultimate Warrior.

Random old WWF memory just came to mind: R-Truth's debut as K-Kwick. Didn't happen on Raw or Smackdown...happened on Sunday Night Heat when they filmed a majority of the episode from WWF New York. Road Dogg, post DX and post New Age Outlaws, finds him, they talk, and then they rap together. Next we know, they're a (short lived due to Dogg's legal issues) tag team. I was going to come in here to post about K-Kwick and Road Dogg. I miss sunday night heat Any other debuts like that you find odd?

Paul London appeared backstage randomly with Vince McMahon, he was then put into a WWE Championship match with Brock Lesnar. He was also the fan that Flair punched in the buildup to WrestleMania 18, and the bunny at Vengeance 2003

Santino debuting as a random crowd plant Random crowd plants aren't unheard of though. That was how Earthquake debuted. I think that might be how Jericho reintroduced Stevie Richards as well but could be wrong on that one.

Jesse & Festus's debut was very weird. We saw them debut with it and they were called The Daltons or The Dalton Boys. I remember it was a backstage moment where they came into Teddy Longs office saying that they are the newest memebers of the roster and after leaving Teddy Long would look like he could care less then when they were supposed to debut the reason Cole said "They Lost Their Way To The Arena" and then about a month or two later they finally debut under the Jesse & Festus name. I was thinking they were going to have a Dukes of Hazard type of gimmick when they were the Daltons.

Two stripper guys show up randomly to attack someone, the next week they get called the Tolands and in the very same episode they're renamed the Dicks.

Big Show's debut was odd in someway, in one way they showed he was a strong monster but at the same time he screwed up the job Mr. McMahon (in story line) by causing Steve Austin to win.

Most recently, I think it was Emma who was just randomly hanging out in the audience holding signs. I don't watch NXT so it was confusing why the announcers kept getting excited about it.
Evan Bourne's debut match on ECW he was Matt Sydal, then the next week they just started calling him Evan Bourne as if nothing happened.
Also speaking of random name changes out of nowhere, "My name is Atlas Ortiz, but my friend call me Ricky."

Kizarny. They ran his vignettes for what felt like months... then stopped dead for like a month, then they started running them again, then he debuted to squash MVP, then he was in a battle royal, then fired.
Also, David Hart Smith round one. He shows up on Raw, squashes Carlito, then it comes out that they knew going into the match he had failed a wellness test and he was suspended immediately after it, then he didn't show up again for months.

They just dropped the last names.

Goldberg in WCW Del Rio skipping NXT The Shield featuring Dean Ambrose actually existing NXT wasn't developmental at the time (not sure it even existed to be honest), it was FCW and Del Rio did some time there. Not much but still did some.

A few notes, I loved the masterpiece gimmick. Granted, debuting him around WM was silly, but I feel the Masterlock challenge was way over. It was a good way for him to hide his greenness while still coming off like a big deal. People forget, in late 05 he was being treated like a future star. It's a shame what happened, I think he was actually really good.
Also, Droz actually debuted as an ally of LOD. I think he puked on DOA's bikes or something on a random Raw. He wasn't in LOD gear, however. That happened a few months later.
Third page or the thread an no one has mentioned "I love double double E"

I seem to recall them appearing in the audience of the Teddy Long wedding before any actual in-ring debut. Am I wrong about that last bit?
