As someone who watches the occasional cartoon and anime, I have no problem with adults (nobody ever seems to mention that adult women watch it as well) watching the show, and considering the amount of time I spend talking about wrestling, I can understand obsessing about something you like. The sigs, the avatars, the usernames... they don't bug me at all. What bugs me is how the fans often times make it feel like its a crime to say anything negative about the show or the fandom. Its been demonstrated time and time again here on FAN (including in this thread) and across the internet that a lot of fans, or at least a very vocal minority can't take a joke or a criticism. Things get made fun of, and that fandom will be no different. It's all taken far too seriously considering its supposed to be a light hearted show about positive virtues. When you get pissed off solely because this thread exists or because not everyone loves something you like, it doesn't give off the friendliest or most inviting vibe, you know?

Drake makes up for all three. Donald Sutherland makes up for all four. Donald Sutherland didn't start at the bottom, he doesn't count.

These are among the type of fans I quit interacting with. The other type of fans being the ones who inhabit /mlp/. if you want to see horrible bronies, just look at an average post there. Quite a bit of sexism, racism. homophobia and ableism in those parts...

Nah, it was pretty simple: Bob is shot into the web, his appearance and voice changes, then Megabyte pretends to be Bob, then we get a cliffhanger which hasn't been resolved in a decade, and...I just made myself upset. That just reminds me of Sonic SatAM. And that had a cliffhanger that hasn't been resolved in TWO DECADES. Believe me, as a dude who's handle here used to incorporate Uncle Chuck, I know that feel all too well. And Canada DID give us Martin Brodeur, Neil Young, and this:

I don't think there's anything wrong with being a fan of the show. I mean, a lot of us follow professional wrestling almost religiously, and I that's about as ridiculous as a show about colourful talking horses as it is. My problems with the fanbase were mainly in the past where some of them would try and crowbar as many MLP references as possible regardless of whether they were appropriate or not. I haven't seen that in a quite a while. So as long as they're not trying to shove their fandom in my face, I have no beef with them.

I don't know what I'm trying to say in this post, I haven't slept much lately, but just pointing out the thread title is slightly antagonistic, and I for one am not intending to be that way. Because the title was clearly intended to be antagonistic as if to go "well, why don't you peons give it a chance?"

I don't really dislike them, I don't know any fans personally and the show from what little I've seen of it is harmless enough that I don't actually feel the need to outright antagonize any fan I see on the internet.
That said, I will still tease you for liking it without mercy or remorse, but I fully expect you to do the same to me if I confess to anything embarassing, because God knows there is worse stuff out there than My Little Pony that I unironically enjoy.
I believe there communication on the internet needs different social contracts than in real-life. In real-life, I will be try and be as polite to you as I can and expect you to be polite to me in return so we be around eachother despite our differences. But on the internet nobody has to put up with anyone if they don't want to. If I mock you for anything, you can always ignore me, or you can try to engage me and convince me that I'm wrong, or we could at least get into a fun little exchange of insults, whatever works for you. A bit of teasing never hurt anyone.
