Where was that "its not hot" clip originally from? I looked all over the PPVs and Nitros from that time and couldn't find it...I must see it in hi-def! Pretty sure it originally aired on Saturday Night. It was pre-Nitro, and Saturday Night was the flagship, or the mother ship, if you will.

Damn that's what I thought, I wonder if those will ever make it to WWE Network? Probably just selected episodes if anything. Actually now that I think of it, I think that whole segment is on one of those Countdown shows, it might be "worst characters"

Hogan hadn't exactly turned heel yet, but it was WCW's first attempt to reinvent Hogan. He was wearing the black gear IIRC because he was feuding with the Dungeon of Doom and needed to tap into a darker side of himself. Someone will probably post that, "It's not hot! There's no Hulkamaniacs here" clip shortly which was all around the same time. Dungeon of Doom also shaved his mustache which I thought was the most heinous thing ever when it happened. As for why he is wrestling with Sting? I think it had something to do with Hogan wanting to see who his friends are and if Sting would turn his back on him rather than wrestle him fairly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx8Xb5VJulQYou're welcome! There aren't enough Michaels/Undertaker, Misawa/Kobashi or Ambrose/Rollins matches in the world to convince people that wrestling is cool when stuff like this exists.

You'd think with Vince's pettiness that he would release a best of WCW dvd/blu ray that's nothing but Dungeon of Doom vignettes.

Yeah forget about the first 100 hours of Nitro, they should put up as much WCW Saturday Night as humanly possible. They can air it at 6:05 on Saturday Nights and everything. And yes I do remember thinking it was truly bizarre that Arn Anderson of all people gave Hogan his first pinfall loss in WCW.

I remember being thrilled that fans chose Sting over Hogan in that match. It just made me feel proud that Sting's fan base was so solid to let Hogan know who the real WCW icon was.

You know in watching these Nitros, I wonder if Sting had John Cena heat with the IWC back in the day. From all accounts, Sting is decent in the ring, or was. But the last episode I watched had a Sting vs. Flair match, and Sting must have pressed slammed Flair at least 4 times in that match and he "hulked up" at least two times. IDK...Sting was over but his wrestling skills were lacking I feel.

Just watch any/all of their matches and you'll see the same spots every single time. As much as people crow about Flair vs. Sting, I hated when they wrestled each other because I could pretty much call it move by move. Sting had much better matches against other wrestlers IMO when he wasn't called on to do the same spots, i.e. a dozen press slams, no-selling chops & hulking up, figure four which ends in Sting hulking up and escaping after Flair starts slapping him, etc.
