I'm on this P90X3 (which is awesome, BTW), but these leg exercises are killing me. Like, I love lifting weights but the leg stuff is killing my ankles and Achilles. I'm super tall, so my calves look like sticks no matter what, but I'm this close to saying F it. My dream of Randy Orton thighs may not ever come true

I'm not Confused Randy Orton until I can get his thighs. Then, pants are optional.

Leg days are so bad that I tend to cut them out more often that I should, and justify that it's ok because I walk a lot.

Leg days are the worst days... Gotta drink that protein when you're thirst-ay.
Legs are often overlooked and weaker then the rest of the muscle groups... Which means that they will be especially sore. Once you start targeting them that soreness will not be of the pain variety. If you do feel actual pain, do lower weight. Don't hurt yourself.

I used to hate leg days, but after powering through them I actually enjoy them a bit more.
If your looking for total body strength nothing beats squats and deadlifts. I try to mix up my schedule with front squats, high bar squats, sumo deadlifts and regular deadlifts.
I would recommend watching some of Elliott Hulse's videos on YouTube, he has great advice for anyone starting to deadlift and squats. He's saved me from a lot of back pain.

Yes, but they're pretty important.

I hear ya. I'm not tall, but my legs are the longest party of me. That much further to go down and come up.

If you don't dread leg days, then you're not doing them properly.

As a wise man once said, don't stress over legs bro.
Your lower body is like, literally beneath you.

If you don't dread leg days, then you're not doing them properly. Ya, nothing kicks my ass like squats. What I hate though is the exercise in frustration that is working my Johnny Drama calves, I can knock-outs reps with the whole stack but they just don't grow like my thighs. My arms are the same way, forearms are strong enough but they just don't have the proportional mass of my upper-arms.

I never understood the issue with leg days but then again I always had big legs and thighs. When I first started the gym I did everything during my workout (arms, back, legs) and the rotating between arms and legs never put too much pain on my legs. When I put emphasis on having an actual leg day I felt it but not too bad. I don't work my legs out every week (I don't want them to get too big) but it isn't too bad. I also like cardio too so I guess I am the weird one.

It's the day after leg days that suck.

Ok, I'm currently listening to Beyonce's Drunk In Love and the line "Why can't I keep my fingers of ya baby, I want you" was said when I saw this gif.

Not as much as I used to. I've dropped a bunch of weight over the past few years, yet managed to keep my fat guy carrying calves and thighs. Yes, I did shout "LOOK AT DESE CALVES" at times. Being rather large and doing them though, I'd get so uncomfortably warm and walking anywhere sucked the few days afterwards.
Went through a period where they were pure bliss though. I had a skinny torso and muscular legs, so it felt like I was on bionics. Practically leapt home.
