I hate them because I still have a bad knee and I have massive f***ing powerful tree trunks of legs. So when I haven't done a leg day in a long time, I overdue them without knowing it and I can barely walk for the next two days after.

There is a difference between pain and soreness. The latter is fine. The former is not. Soreness is a good thing.
I have a hit or miss relationship with leg days. When I have a great leg day, I love doing legs. When I'm dragging and not doing things at 100%, it's the longest gym day.
