I honestly would take a Russo booked show over the over-produced boring product we have had lately. Until recently, that choice was available to you. It was called TNA

He did nothing with it back then just like he did nothing with it in 2014. And now we want to see him with the keys to the car of the biggest wrestling promotion in the world? When did Dixie Carter become half of this place's posters?

Some people in this thread are under the impression that he was suggesting he could do better.
He wasn't, he was saying McMahon and co. can do better because he witnessed firsthand what they can do.
Tell me how he's wrong there.

Tell me how he's wrong there. Because he already offered his own vision of Summerslam, and it was comical.

I'm for anything that would shake up how the WWE is produced these days.

I agree that Vince can do better, but I disagree that Vince Russo could do better. It'd still be bad, just in a different way.

Russo's argument is valid. This is typical WWE booking, where they are booking who they want as top talent as opposed to giving the audience what they want. Though, catering entirely to the audience isn't always a good thing, either.
The problem is that many people are not going to care about Russo's opinion. Why? Because Russo has a tendency to celebrate everything that went well, and refuse to admit fault on everything that screwed up. As we all know, in Russo's books and interviews, everything that resulted in crappy buyrates and low TV ratings when he was a head writer was because of everybody else because they were holding him back, or telling him "You can't have Roddy Piper call Rhonda Singh 'fat'", or politics, or bias, or any other tchtocke excuse the guy can come up with. This is the same with people like Jim Cornette and Tommy Dreamer, who mattered a lot to the industry, but have failed to adapt and instead live in the past, so they have gone from icons to figures of scorn. Unlike those two, however, Russo lacks the credentials the other two guys have because while his successes were widespread, his failures were catastrophic, something neither Dreamer or Cornette has ever endured one way or another.
So, calling the works of other people "BS" while refusing to admit that you are fundamentally flawed yourself, even if you are corect, won't win you any supporters.

This would be WAY EASIER to read WITHOUT the random CAPITALIZATION. "It's gonna be EMOTIONAL!!" "One way...OR ANOTHER!"

Dear Mr Russo:
The reason wwe tried so hard during the Attitude Era is because back then, they had actual competition thT was handing them their collective ass on a weekly basis. No competition means they don't have to try anywhere near as hard to put out a good show. Therefore we the people are left with their glorious mediocrity on a weekly basis. Smackdown doesn't even matter because it's nothing more than a two hour Raw recap show. Bring back some competition and light a fire under the collective ass of the WWE and you might see the WWE care.

Dear shaemus,
Well you know something bro, we were almost right there with TNA. But you SEE, the powers to be, MAINLY Spike, kept ham-stringing US with their ideas about how things SHOULD be run. Despite my best EFFORTS, I was blocked at every turn by things that kept getting that company OVER the hump. That's JUST the way it is SOMETIMES bro.
