He can do a few flippy moves but lets face it, he's boring as shit.

I don't like fake Sin Cara. He's too slow.

Given the issues they're having right now with the ADR firing and the accusations of racism, pushing Hunico as Sin Cara wouldn't help with that one bit. 'Hey Mexican/Latino American audience, remember when we signed Mexico's biggest star and made such a huge deal about it, well, he's gone and left in an acrimonious manner, you know that, we know that, but we're going to keep on pretending that Hunico is the same guy, despite being visibly larger, tattooed and not performing the same moveset, as one Mexican is as good as the next, right? And if you like him, wait until next year when we introduce Primo Mysterio Jr.'
Hunico deserves better, deserves to have his own character where he can show off all his skills, but hey, playing Sin Cara in the midcard will provide him with job security he wouldn't otherwise have had.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. They are embarrassed by the fact Mistico ruined the character and aren't pushing him more because Mistico flubbed it up so bad. Keeping him on the card somewhere sells masks to kids and that's his purpose. Isn't Hunico pushing 40 anyway? Dude should be counting his lucky stars to be in that position cause I don't think he DESERVES much of anything. He got quite lucky to have his spot.

Hunico's not very good at the high flying luchador stuff which the Sin Cara character is supposed to be. (he's much better at the technical stuff)
Mistico was brought in as Sin Cara to capture the Mexican audience who know that the guy under the hood is not the same person despite WWE stating things that made it sound like it was supposed to be the same guy still.
Hunico doesn't have the charismatic presence that Mistico did (yes Mistico barely spoke under the hood but he emoted much better than Hunico does)

His "lucha-lucha" hand taunt just doesn't have half the energy that Kallisto's does. Bring back El Local!

Except they don't HAVE to pretend he's the same guy. After all, they already did a storyline where there were two Sin Caras. And they kind of already do the "one Mexican is good as the next" thing. The fact that they only view(ed) Sin Cara or Kalisto or Del Rio as a "potential replacement for Rey" without regard to whatever else they may bring to the table shows it. Stop pushing one Latino star at a time just to fill a "spot". "Mexican Wrestler" should not be a "role". Get rid of that mindset and they won't come off as racist.
