shame they didn't carry over the beta stuff for it, it'd be nice not having to re-do the starting 8 level up's again ( did it in both the alpha & beta.)

Yep, doing the same stuff for the 4th time right out of the gate, not the most enduring way to kick it off. But I just 3 player co-oped for the past hour and it was a blast. The moon is one of the prettiest damn things ever in a game.

Okay does anyone know how to play this game solo? I'm finding it really frustrating trying to take this game at a slow pace, figure out what I'm doing when all of a sudden some guys pop in guns blazing and turns everything into madness and it's driving me crazy.

Played it for a bit yesterday, only level four so far.... I guess it's just not hitting me as hard as it should be, though.
Maybe it's a lot like Borderlands where the first few levels are a boring, linear grind, then at a certain point the whole game opens up to you... but right now, it feels very limited and confined. I don't really feel like I'm being encouraged to explore and find things to do, it just feels like it's saying "Do story missions, grind bounties, do patrols in a small area of the map, then call it a day."
At the same time, I did a digital pre-order of it on my PS4 back in July... well, lo-and-behold, in the time since then... my friends have all picked up Xbox Ones. I also have one, but around that time.. it seemed like everyone was jumping aboard the PS4 wagon, so part of my issue may be just the fact I'm not gonna be able to do the fireteam stuff which seems to be a big draw to the game once you hit level cap.
Granted, I'm thinking of console swapping the game, so I can join up with everyone.. but, thus far... it seems like I'll be dropping 120 bucks on something that is forgotten about after a couple weeks.
It's not a bad game at all, it's really good and I like a lot of the ideas in it.... it just seems like it's very limited for type of game it's supposed to be. In that, while Bungie calls it a "Shared World Shooter" rather than MMO, you can't re-invent the wheel without people expecting to draw similarities to whatever it can be compared to...

Yeah I haven't put in a lot of time into it but my early impressions are that it's dipping into too many concepts without fully committing that I'm not even sure what it's trying to do. It's not really an MMO. It's not really an RPG. It's not really a single player or PVP game, it covers a lot of territory no particular part of it really deep enough to get too invested in. It almost purposely wants you to just draw your own conclusions the way it just plunks you in there with minimal instructions, which either implies that they want you to make it whatever you want it to be or they really don't know themselves.

those hive moon orges are a bit weak once you start shooting them in the head

Just spent about ten minutes kicking a ball around with other players on the Tower. xD And I only stopped because it got stuck on a shop shelf.

Destiny is way more fun with a Fireteam, although setting one up is a crapshoot.
The best part is that during the Darkness portions of levels, if you have a partner, you can revive each other. So much better.

Well, tonight I ran into the most difficult boss encounter in online video game history. It's a familiar foe. I knew it would be included, as a derivative of this type of boss appears in all online video games, sadly.... regardless of your level or armor, he always ends up kicking your ass some nights.
The dreaded lost internet connection in the middle of a badass firefight.
So, I fought with that, fought with my router, hoping I was able to reset the NAT connection to open (been a long-standing fight for me, I always seem to be on the losing end as no matter what I seem to try, it always ends up going back to strict.... regardless of modem, router, or ISP combination)... gonna continue the fight on Destiny tomorrow.
It's honestly starting to get a bit more fun, but I really think it'll end up being a 20 level grind until I can get to the raids.
Also... f*** the Crucible.

I play on the 360 but then I have a lot of friends with the game so have been having a good time. I've done a lot of quests on my own. Also once you get to lvl 20 your experience builds towards Moot of Light currency which you can use to get better stuff & push yourself above lvl 20. Also the 1st DLC comes out in December which is pretty quick to me.

Getting somewhat frequent disconnects on Xbox One, although it's flawless on the PS4.
Not surprised though, everyone I play games with has it on an Xbox console rather than Sony so I'm pretty certain the servers are being bogged down intermittently.
It's not enough to be game-breaking at all, as I'm used to the grind.

It's not enough to be game-breaking at all, as I'm used to the grind. Just out of curiosity why do you have it on both? Because for about six months, I kept asking my friends if they were going PS4 or Xbox One for next gen, specifically for Destiny. As of July, they were gung-ho for the PS4... so I did the digital pre-order for it on PSN. Well, in the last month... they all did an about-face and decided on Xbox One instead. Thus... console-swap.

Played the moon raid with two other guys yesterday, probably took a grand total of an hour and a half due to all three of us dying and having to restart 4 or 5 times.
I'm not going to be replaying that raid anytime soon.

Well once you get to Level 20 it becomes the standard grinding game to get better gear. It just sucks when no matter what way you go you still have to do PVP to get the legendary weapons unless you can fluke one from an engram.
