Just saw on the news that Ray Rice is being Benoit'd out of Madden '15, Nike cut ties with him, and Ravens and stores are offering trade-ins for his jersey. This dude is done.

I don't know if he was ever in the Madden Giferator, but he isn't anymore.
And if Nike's outright cutting his endorsements, he's finished. They didn't do that with Tiger Woods, Marion Jones, Kobe Bryant, or really anyone else who had serious personal/legal issues to sort out and were losing sponsorships left and right. Everything else you might see him coming back one day in the future. But Nike's the kiss of death.

He was never in the Giferator, but now they are censoring the word Rice, I believe.

There have been some excellent write ups on this story from The Guardian, Esquire, The New Yorker, and others, along with the scathing Olbermann rant from last night.
Goodell is just awful, in my book. The big story on his end is that the NFL can never make enough money (read: HE could never make enough money) to ever care about potentially losing a few bucks to do something positive for a victim of a horrible crime. If there's a few bucks to be lost in pursuing justice, he'll dive to save the bucks.
With Ray Rice...I went to Rutgers-New Brunswick while he was there. Never met the guy, but I absolutely hate the football culture there. Awful, awful, awful.

Colts placed OLB Cam Johnson on injured reserve with a triceps injury, ending his season.

Looking at this map makes me think there should be a team in Utah.

It's a recent thing since the start of the Schiano days when he was pushing and pushing football and the administration finally went that way. It's still a well respected academic school and all, but yeah it's definitely got a football lean to it now.

Ray Rice has officially been Hernandezed from the league I'm just waiting for Topps, Upper Deck, and Panini to announce they're removing Ray Rice from all their future products, even the ones coming out in a week or 2. Also that there will be no Ray Rice sticker auto dumps in future products, and if you had a Ray Rice redemption it will be replaced with something else.

I'm still confused has the NFL given a justification on why the suspension has been increased? If its new evidence then that's bullshit.

My *guess* is that they'll justify it by saying that the tape proved when Rice met with league officials, he lied to them when he gave his account of how the incident went down
