JBL got knocked out by Joey Styles, and roundhouse kicked by Steve Blackman in an airport. JBL deserves everything he gets, he acts like John Wayne & then jabs the wrong person who shows him up & bitches him out

ok, the ones we know for sure happened: RVD punked Taz, there where witnesses, even Taz's student Danny Doring said he saw it go down. Wrestlers in the Florida territory, said that Blackjack Mulligan punked up Bob Roop, even Kevin Sullivan who was close with Roop said it. People saw Goldberg getting choked out by Jericho, Raven described the incident on his rf shoot. Credible websites, not newz, like the observer and the torch said that New Jack almost killed Balls. Sid besting Arn was corroborated also. I never heard anything about Nash and Taker, the poster didn't claimed it as fact, I don't know if the fujinami is true or not, because I don't think they were around the same time. I got another one, Andre The Giant was tough but Akira Maeda exposed him in a match in New Japan. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSE91FHzQncOn his shoot interview Masada, claims that many people think that Samoa Joe is a badass but Necro Butcher kept him in check, if anyone knows more about this story please let me know, I know Necro punches hard (Super Dragon said that he asked Necro to punch him full force for a match they had in pwg, and Dragon said he got knocked out), but I would give Joe the edge in grappling, being that he trained with Tito Ortiz's Team Punishement (before they sucked). Saying someone isn't tough because Necro Butcher kicked their ass is ludicrous. Necro Butcher is legitimately one of the toughest men in history. You're right, but if it is true, which I don't know I'm just taking Masada's word for it, then it diminishes a little bit of Joe's aura.

To be fair, look at the time frame. I think any of us could of had a crack at Andre at this time period.

Eh, while Joe's taken some crazy bumps and weapon shots, I don't know if I'd consider him a badass outside of kayfabe. His aura is mainly based around his gimmick.

Like Andre was telling racists jokes and Bad News just called him out and Andre didn't do shit? On his book Bret claims it happened

I always thought that the Morrison/Melina/Batista thing was overblown, Morrison and Melina could have an open relationship for all anyone knows.
The Arn/Sid brawl ended with both of them bloody as hell and stabbed with scissors from what I recall. Not sure that anyone can say that neither one of them is not tough on that one.

Joe is still tough but the issue back then was people just looked at Necro as a garbage wrestler and didn't think he was legit tough and it took Joe by surprise when he found out how legit tough Necro was.

I agree, I didn't said that Arn wasn't tough, just answering a question from a poster who said he didn't think Sid was tough because of the squeegee incident, I think that both Sid and Arn are tough.

I kinda have a problem with Maeda "exposing" Andre. I believe I heard somewhere that Andre was heavily under the influence in that match. On top of that, the guy's mobility was severely limited compared to 5-10 years before. I'd like to see what Maeda would have done against Andre in his prime.

Single leg takedown, Karl Gotch disciples don't f*** around, the result would've been the same, it's different fighting with a hooker or a master grappler, Demetrious Johnson is a midget but he kills me, Ronda Rousey kills me too.

Let's face it, for every Haku and Tracy Smothers, we have Taz and Sheamus, I'm talking about the guys that are never gonna win a backstage fight against another wrestler.
Let's start with Taz, he had everyone convinced that he was the biggest badass in the world, it got to the point that when ecw first invaded Raw, it was rumored that Ken Shamrock was sizing Taz, he even had Kurt Angle concerned that he was gonna "test" him on their match at the Royal Rumble. His reputation ended when RVD exposed him by slapping him twice and Taz not doing anything about it.
Sheamus has gotten his ass kicked by Yoshi Tatsu and Hunico, I think the word got around to the locker room and his push diminished because of it.
John Morrison, after Batista slept with his woman he didn't retaliate, which is ok, what wasn't ok was the fact that he went back with her, Meltzer claimed that after this Vince always saw him as "pussy whipped", Paul London made a joke about Morrison saying that the guy "lets others sleep with his girlfriend and chaperone their dates".
Balls Mahoney, I always thought that he was a tough guy, he claimed to have an amateur background, what scared me was that he claimed that he always carried a knife, I believed his hype as someone not to be f***ed around with...then New Jack exposed him bad by punching him down, and Balls pleading with him to stop hitting him.
The bottom two, maybe the least tough guys around, first Triple H, he even admits it, he's actually a nice guy who's a pro and only cares about putting a good product. The other one is HBK, 'nuff said, one marine kicked his ass not 20 as he claims, f*** even Triple H admitted on the Michaels DVD that Shawn probably deserved the ass kicking. The Harris Twins almost beat the shit out of him until he started crying, another one of his boys, Kevin Nash admitted that HBK also deserved to get his ass kicked then. Marty Janetty beat the f*** out of him too.
I respect all of this guys abilities in the ring, I'm just pointing out that if you have a fight in a bar, they are not the best choices to have backing you up.
Didn't Shawn also get his ass kicked by Bret Hart once? I have heard the stories about that.

Yeah it was when Bret had the leg injury, Bret admitted that he wasn't a 100% and that they had a Catfight, Bret ripped a chunk of HBK's hair. Shawn took the hair and went to Vince's office (cornette was also there) he put the hair on the desk and stooged the fight to Vince, telling him that it was an unsafe environment for him to work and left the room with Vince behind him. Cornette looked at the hair and took it as a collector's item, he tells the story on his 97 wwe timeline

The Arn/Sid brawl ended with both of them bloody as hell and stabbed with scissors from what I recall. Not sure that anyone can say that neither one of them is not tough on that one. They weren't even together anymore when she started dating Batista. They've all told this story; I'm not even sure where that rumor started. About Jericho/Goldberg: did Goldberg actually get choked out? What I read was that Jericho put him in a face-lock and didn't let go, and it got broken up pretty quickly. If his grip is tight, how else is Goldberg to get out besides punching the guy? It's still funny because of the size difference, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. One Goldberg fight I've heard of was him and Scott Norton, where Norton got the better of him following a disagreement they had on a 1-on-1 match (and Norton allegedly quit/was fired after that fight). I've never seen anything that verifies the story, though. Does anyone have any info on this, or was it just an urban legend?

Actually I think Jericho told him to calm down and let him go, but Goldberg came at him again and Jericho put him in a guillotine again... Really Norton? Yeah he's tough as nails, but I've never heard the story. I think Regal could've stretched Goldberg during their match, but was too much of a pro, Goldberg claimed that Regal tried to take advantage of him, but Regal said to Bischoff that it was like simple holds and that any trained wrestler could follow the sequence.

Never knew about this. Taz always seems like such a cool guy on Legends of Wrestling. My respect for him actually went up after seeing him on there. How about Sid? The infamous squeegee altercation with Brian Pillman. Didn't Kevin Nash also get dropped by Undertaker in the mid 90's? Maybe that was just a rumor. Ric Flair has been beat up by his daughter's boyfriends and ex wives soo.... What is Ric Flair suppose to do? Hit his wives and get more charges charged against his broke ass? Also the daughters boyfriends are bunch of meatheads in their 20's fighting a broken down 60 year old man. Anyways I don't see Zach Gowen and Hornswoggle winning too many fights.

Gotta love some statements of fact in this thread based entirely on rumours. You know how it is. On the internet, if something gets repeated enough times, it becomes accepted as fact.

The RVD/Taz story makes me smile every time.
I read RVD walked up to him, stuck out both of his hands, told Taz to "pick one" and then nailed him.

JBL got knocked out by Joey Styles, and roundhouse kicked by Steve Blackman in an airport. He never got KO'd by Styles. Damn story has grown to this but it was never Styles KO'ing JBL. Styles swung and JBL fell on his ass but what people always forget or leave out is that Styles ran and hid while the wrestlers held JBL back. It was a lucky shot which even Joey has admitted.
