If you had to choose between the Ruthless Aggression era's "next generation" wrestlers or the wrestlers today that are currently considered as the future of the business to lead you to the promised land....Which group of superstars do you take to put in your main event scene?
So it's:
MVP Umaga Mr. Kennedy Carlito Shelton Benjamin Lashley
I think I'm missing a few others that fit into this category but you get the point right?
or this new crop of talent
Cesaro Wyatt Reigns Ambrose Rollins & whoever you mark for nowadays that has a decent enough chance (Ryback, BNB maybe)
None of these dudes really took off in WWE (so far). All considered to be future main eventers by fans at one point or another.
I think I'd take the 2005-2008 group. They all had that goofy traditional WWE archetypal charm about them.

Reigns and Ambrose are more than likely 100% safe. The rest, not so much.

Honestly, the 2005 - 08 lot weren't that good. Kennedy was dreadful, Carlito bland and lazy, lashley was good but sounded like a dweeb when he spoke, Umaga was pretty good but handicapped by WWE style, Shelton should have been a world champion.

Reigns and Ambrose are more than likely 100% safe. The rest, not so much. Nah, they're all good. Wrestlemania 30. They were all highlighted and people ate that shit up. If Vince dips then maybe Barrett won't be safe unless Trips likes him. They also had big plans for Skip Sheffield even back then so who knows.

Just because Punk is gone and Bryan is injured doesn't mean they didn't become stars. Quite a selective use of the facts to make your point

The new crop of talent is more interesting to me than the 2005-08 crew were the entire blink of an eye they were around.

Besides Lashley, and maybe Mr.Kennedy prior to his f*** ups, I never pictured any of the 05-08 crew in the main event scene.

To put it bluntly, Cena's the only one who isn't a cog in the machine.
And that's only because WWE haven't built anyone up to replace him, due to their stupidity.
