Hey guys, I was hoping someone can help me out. I know this sounds very random, but I am freaking out a little right now and would appreciate some help. My throat was hurting pretty bad and i was having trouble swallowing, so i looked at my throat in the mirror with a flash light and saw a series of bumps/lumps on the side of my throat. I was was wondering if anyone here has every seen anything like this before or even knows what it is that is happening. I know the best thing to do is go see a doctor and I plan on going to one tomorrow if i can get an appointment. But right now I am just really freaked out and was hoping to at least get some answers and like the loser I am I didn't know anywhere else to turn at this time of night then FAN. So any information or theories would be much appreciated. I'd rather know and have some information then be up all night wondering what could be going on and a slight background on my throat, i did have my tonsils out several years ago but these arent really where tonsils are located Here's a wide angle shot of my throat, you can see the bumps sticking out on the left the next two pics are more zoomed up and you can see the lumps kind of are in a row, with the largest long one on the bottom and a fat round shaped one all the way to the top left Thanks

might be sore throat mine becomes really ugly and it feels like swallowing knives when I eat. Try gargling hot salt water it'll go away though if this is your first time it's safer to go to the doctor. I dunno though it might be something else.

Did you get your adenoid out too with the tonsils?

Yeah, I was wondering about lymphoid tissue in that area, too. Definitely get checked for oral cancer, of course. It could really be just about anything, but the fact that it's only on one side seems odd.

First and foremost, do NOT self diagnose by looking it up on the internet. You'll wind up thinking it's something much worse than what it is. Your mind can very easily trick you into feeling like you have something it's not. Just wait for the doctor to take a look at it and try not to think about it too much.

Self diagnosis is pretty much the worse thing you can do to yourself in a situation like this , I for the longest time thought to myself ( like 3 years ) that I had type 2 diabetes- went to the doctor and found out I didn't- I spent 3 years worrying about something that didnt even exist.

There are a couple of people here with actual medical knowledge, and I'd doubt any of them would diagnose over the internet something that needs to be looked at and felt.
Go see a real doctor if it's worrying to you.

There's a number of things it could be but you're better off not stressing and heading to the doctor first thing. If you've had any other signs of infection such as fever, fatigue, and the usual ones, it's probably just a sore throat though.

Update, I was able to get a saturday appointment with my doctor so I'll be there tomorrow. Over the phone he thinks major strep throat could cause that, but they'll do some tests and stuff there.

While you're at your regular doctor, ask him if he'd recommend seeing an Ear-Nose-Throat doctor.

While you're at your regular doctor, ask him if he'd recommend seeing an Ear-Nose-Throat doctor. Yeah I will. I do have history with esophagus problems. I have a esophagitis and have had 3 upper GI's on my throat, to help stretch my esophagus as it was getting to the point where i'd have trouble swallowing. I have read in the past that conditions like that and other stomach acid related problems increases the chance of getting cancer in the throat and espghogus area. So I really hope it's not that. But I am very relieved ill be seeing a professional tomorrow

Also ask your doctor to grab your testicles. No idea why but I hear they do that.

Could range from a sore to Tonsilitis.I recommend going to a clinic get checked, and if it is really bad, they will forward you to a hospital.
That was my case at least.

I'm at the doctors now. He believes it's a bad infection. So I'll be on some antibiotics and was referred to an ear nose and throat doctor. So good news he said cancer tends to look different
