Kendall Skye also looked like an older version of Sara Del Ray
And Del Ray's like 35 so you should see what I mean by "older"

But the misses are real. Sin Cara, Kassius Ohno. Scouting wrestlers is almost no different then scouting any other sport. Dudes can have the talent of a first overall pick but have the attitude and coachability of a 9th round draft pick. Or vice versa. But that's the whole point. In all of entertainment, the first rule is: nobody knows anything. You think you do, but you won't. It's entirely possible that WWE could hire a third-generation, movie-idol looks and charisma, All-Pro NFL player, who spent time in ROH and got five stars with a broomstick for a hobby- and they could go over like a fart in church in WWE- and it is possible that Bill DeMott could offer the next guy who walks past the Performance Center a development deal and end up with the next Hogan. You never know what will turn out- but you can't just pick at random either. If you have a good case to "kind of" know, then you need to make the signings- and that does require a little scouting knowledge there too.

Including the WWE scouts. Which is why it's stupid to build a team of nothing but first overall picks. That's just lazy costly scouting. Nobody wants to be the pre LeBron James return Cleveland Cavaliers or the Edmonton Oilers. But this is all speculation. This whole conversation was based on a dirt sheet report on Developmental salaries.

Here's the thing with the Trish Stratus hiring. Yes, she was a model- a fitness model at that. And while I'll be the first to admit she was never amazing at wrestling, she was gifted at establishing a character, and the WWE hit the jackpot when I don't think they even meant to with her. Then, there's Kelly Kelly. Hired at 19, expressionless, took years to learn how to run the ropes, and for whatever inexplicable reason was popular with fans. And now there's Paige. Daughter of a wrestler, indie darling, already champ. All three women pretty much exemplify what WWE thought/thinks women's wrestling can be at the time. Paige is the anti-diva? Then why is she in a push-up bra and spanks, and being a fake lesbian? The more things change.... Here's the thing though. An attractive woman will always have a place in professional wrestling, so long as it is televised. Whether as an in ring performer, a valet/manager, a ring announcer, or a backstage interviewer. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't cast a wider net, or only hire models, or whatever. They absolutely should cast a wider net. And I do think they are stuck in a mode of 'Our female wrestlers have to be attractive' which I'd say is a holdover from the Attitude Era, but the Attitude Era gave us Chyna and Nicole Bass sooo.

Saw Skye not too long ago at a house show. She was coming along nicely in the ring, and at moments impressive even. Sucks to see someone with that kind of potential let go.

Then why is she in a push-up bra and spanks, and being a fake lesbian? The more things change.... I think HHH is going in the right direction, and yes there will always be casualties in every hiring process, but I think the WWE is sorely in need of more diversity. More women of DIFFERENT SIZES (and not slim and slender, pixie and swizzle stick), different backgrounds (comedians, sports ballers, etc.), different races! Would it kill them to hire ONE Japanese wrestler or ONE Mexican wrestler? And as far as pay goes, nobody can blame anyone for turning down a WWE job for more pay. If the WWE wants to keep their female employees, they ought to extend the olive branch and pay them more money. Emphasis mine. Every time they hire a bigger girl they go nowhere, it is simply not possible that they all were completely useless. Anya in particular seems like a missed opportunity, a big girl who can legitimately fight and who is easy on the eyes. It's partly why I root for Charlotte, she has decent size, made more noticeable by the fact that her dad isn't a big guy, and she has improved very quickly, I really hope they don't drop the ball with her too.

For the love of God, Jack Parkman has nothing to do with any of this. I hate how people shoehorn Major League references into everything.

Never saw either wrestle. I saw Kendall Skye back when she was announcing, but I always thought Alexa Bliss and Eden were better contenders for that role, though now Alexa is becoming an in-ring Diva and Eden has been joined by JoJo as a ring announcer.
