Show feels like it's moving way too fast.
"You're under arrest Gordon!" Ok, they're going to stretch this for a few episodes before Gordon finally relents and tells Bullock where to find Penguin, probably bringing him in during a tense moment in the tri- "Hi guys! Penguin here!" ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME!?!?!?

The audience already knows he didn't kill him, it'd just be a waste of time to do it. The interesting things happen after Penguin reveals himself. Falcone will want Gordon dead because he lied and isn't on the take. Fish is gonna want Penguin dead. Maroni doesn't care about keeping the peace so he'll protect Penguin and Penguin's been looking to start a mob war and move up in the world.

I'm going to attribute that to the fact that the show was initially only picked up for 13 episodes, so with no guarantee of a second season they probably intended to squeeze as much as possible into that number as possible. My main concern is that now they've gotten a full 22 episodes they're gonna have a lot of filler in the second half of the season.

The ending got me to thinking, was Penguin just waiting outside the GCPD building for like several hours in anticipation for making a dramatic entrance in the middle of an argument?

How awful are Montoya and Allen as detectives that they haven't noticed the Penguin is alive and well.
I mean, he hasn't exactly been 'lying low' since his return to the city. My god.
Also, I think that last week and this week show that they have absolutely no idea what to do with Selina Kyle. She's just showing up now purely to remind the audience she exists.
But this was the most tolerable episode so far for me solely because Jada Pinkett Smith sat this one out. And also, more Donal Logue is always welcome.

I'm pretty certain we aren't supposed to like this version of Montoya. The way she's been antagonistic to Gordon and even homewrecking by trying to kiss his wife shows we're supposed to be on Gordon's side. Personally, I don't think anything's moving too fast at all. This is all to set up the coming mob war, and I don't see them blowing through all of that within just two episodes.

I feel as if the animosity between Montoya and Gordon will be worked out when someone eventually murders Barbara, which seems like the most obvious future plot point in the whole daggone world, and they work together to get them. She's been the weakest part of the series so far, so her being killed off would pretty much be the biggest thing to do with her because playing off the Love Triangle would be exhaustively dumb real quick.
Really enjoyed seeing an episode where the veteran Bullock took the lead. Could really help them branch off Gordon to more useful storylines later in the season.
Also, I envision a scene later down the road where Nygma somehow gets a date and ends up ranting and raving from a movie theater about how it wasn't fare for the mystery movie to withhold clues. "What's the point of a mystery unless people can solve it! You need all the clues!

Speaking of Riddler, I the only one bugged they're not calling him Nashton? I get they think they have to have the most on-the-nose names possible, like the Ivy Pepper stupidity, but I've always greatly preferred that name.

I get they think they have to have the most on-the-nose names possible, like the Ivy Pepper stupidity, but I've always greatly preferred that name. It'd be nice. They could reveal, down the road, that his name is Nashton and he changed it in order to join the force. "I had to change my name, but I had to give a clue. Are you telling me you really didn't you get it? Edward Nygma. E. Nygma!" "..." "Come on!" Then again, I'm in my 'enjoying the show' mode where I see more potential than actual stuff.

That Hypnotist crap was stupid, i keep thinking Gotham is supposed to be this gritty year one style crime world, nope It's amazing to me this show has elements of the gritty Frank Miller stuff and elements that seem straight from the 1970's show.

Don't think he'd really notice unless he went to the same places as Penguin and it doesn't seem like he has.

Given how much they call him Harvey, I wonder how many clueless viewers think he's eventually going to turn into Two-Face.
