I see a ton of posts here and elsewhere citing 'Fine on Raw, but not PPV.' aside from the Big Four, are these b-ppvs just extensions of Raw? It is kind of a horrifying ideology but I think it's happened. May as well be addressed.

I see any event besides the Big Four and Money in the Bank as the modern equivalent to Clash of the Champions right now.

It's been like that for the last couple of years, not just the Network era. When you've got 12 hours of RAW per month, a 2.5 hour PPV won't look much different.

I see the long-term future of non-WM/RR/SS ppvs to be 'one match cards', similar to how UFC or boxing works. One big 'must-see' bout at the top of the card and the rest pointless filler. In many respects what old-school PPVs used to be.

I figured this sort of thing would happen with the Network, if only because of how much they were doing it even last year. Like last year's Night of Champions where they opened the show with a promo to set up Axel having a surprise title defense because they had forgotten to live up to the show's gimmick until the last minute.

I'm sure WWE is a lot less concerned about lackluster shows since you don't have to drop $55 for every PPV, but the B-shows were always more or less extensions of Raw.

I think a lot of people didn't actually watch PPV's when they were on ppv. DQ's and run ins have kinda been a thing since wrestling has been on tv.
I actually think the quality of ppv wrestling has however increased since 2005

A PPV last year ended when Big Show just ran in and knocked everyone out. No winner, no loser, just Big Show. They've been treating PPV like Raws that you had to pay to see for a while now.

Then you even look at PPVs like One Night Stand 1 and 2 which basically had wonky finishes for almost all the matches
