Anyone who was watching WCW in early to mid 1996 remembers the angle that brought Diamond Dallas Page back to WCW after he lost his career to the Booty Man. He went from homeless to riding around in limos and had an expensive attorney get him back into WCW. This was never explained and was completely dropped by the end of the year when he turned face.
I've read somewhere that they intended to reveal Kimberly as the benefactor but that would have made no sense since she was the reason he was taken out of WCW in the first place. What they should have done is waited for when the nWo was recruiting DDP and revealed that it was Ted DiBiase who took care of him. This would have given Page even more of a reason to join them other than just the fact that his friends were part of the group. The angle could have played out exactly the same way but at least they would have tied up a loose end along the way.

I want to say it was revealed to be Kimberly and that she felt bad for him that she'd put him through all that. I can't remember though.

Like who drove the White Hummer and what happened to Macho Man for a week when he was up top of the NWO's speeding limo, WCW never followed through on who was DDP's Mysterious Benefactor. I do contend it was going to be Ted Dibiase but they decided to save his debut for the new NWO member every week gimmick.

I've often wondered about this myself.
After Uncensored, WCW filmed a series of vignettes with Page living on the streets. I distinctly remember him selling tickets for a rodeo to some guy, only for the poor schmuck to realize (after Page took his money) that the tickets were for the show the day before. Even the Apter mags got in on the storyline--Pro Wrestling Illustrated did a story about Page coming to work for them.
The angle ended with Page sitting on a sidewalk when a car drove up and someone with a white glove rolled down the window, beckoning him inside. After that, Page was back on TV.

Did they ever do an NWO tries to recruit DDP in the early days?

Where did the bingo game come into things? I distinctly remember security footage of him stealing someone's winning bingo ticket and winning a lot of money.

Kimberly won like 6 million dollars at bingo and he stole it. I believe it was 13 million but by the time Johnny B. Badd won it back for her there was only 6.6 million left. I remember them making a huge deal about how DDP had spent all that money in such a short amount of time.

They could have made it Miss Elizabeth (with Macho Man's money that she drained him of) and had him join the Four Horseman instead of Steve McMichael, im sure this was around the same time. Then have Kimberly join Randy Savage and they feud a year earlier? Strange dynamics im sure.

Did they ever do an NWO tries to recruit DDP in the early days? Yes, and he faked joining, then he beat up the Outsiders. I think he was the first to truly get any kind of offense on them. Since he was still a heel, I think, this is one of the things that sold the NWO as being these super heels because even WCW heels, including such an annoying prick as DDP was, didn't want to be with them. Then, on the other side of things, this is why Dusty Rhodes joining the NWO didn't work, because it made no sense for Dusty to be this awful. Anyway, I digress.

Did they ever do an NWO tries to recruit DDP in the early days? They did. In fact, that's what lead to DDP's face turn. Hall and Nash came out and interfered in a few of his matches, allowing him to reach the finals of the US title tournament. They Then interrupted an interview Paige was having with Okerlund, and formally invited him to join. (This interview referenced DDP's history with the outsiders). Page declined. Because he was insulted that it took them so long to ask, saying he could live with being the4th or 5th member, but not the 7th. Anyway, the outsiders showed up again during the tournament finals, but instead of helping DDP, this time they took him out, allowing Eddie GUrrero to win the title. And the rest, is history.

I remember them making a huge deal about how DDP had spent all that money in such a short amount of time. Yea, it was 13 million. DDP spent half of it on things like fancy new ring gear, a sparkly ring jacket, and a sparkly vest that looked just like the ring jacket that he wore under the jacket and kept on during his matches.
