Mexican Snookie is here this week again. Autobot Aerostar vs Final Form Drago was their best effort so far. That trust fall senton by Aerostar is f***ing nuts. Somehow Konnan is a master of cane fighting. Should had used that when Cage was stomping out his ass. Wearing a lucha mask outside of Mexico or a wrestling show guarantees you an encounter with the police. I miss El Mariachi Loco. From the Streets? They are a generic bunch of thugs. Slyck Ryck about to go Old Testament on dem youngsters. He murked them fools. A whoop dat trick chant? Ok. Of course, Maria Susana has to make an appearance. Lucha Underground loves their gimmick matches. Like WSX. Mexican version of the Undertaker's Mania entrance. Again, Mil is suppose to be the heel but the crowd doesn't see him as such. The main event was delightfully brutal. I wonder if this was Mil Muerte's character's swan song and where does Fenix & Catrina go from here?

I can count on one hand the amount of really good Casket Matches, as it's not usually something that lends itself to having great matches, especially when Undertaker and Kane are in nearly all of them. Like the Aztec Warfare a couple of months ago, Lucha Underground redefined the match with Fenix and Muertes, and gave it its own feel and presentation. It was more like a hardcore match that just happened to include a casket, rather than a basic match, put the guy in it. Nice tie-in with the storyline as well, it could well have been Lucha Underground's best match yet.

That Fenix/Mil Muertes casket match was one of the most brutal things I've seen in a while that wasn't out of a garbage fed.
Why oh why did they not offer Sin Caras' contract to Fenix?

Missed the last couple of weeks, but managed to watch this week's show.
- Matt Striker has got to go. I don't really care who replaces him because it would take someone extra special to make me wish for Striker back. - Really fun match between Aerostar and Drago. I'm looking forward to seeing more from them. - Fun showcase for Big Ryck against The Crew and a nice touch for Sexy Star to get her revenge as well. - Great presentation for the Grave Consequences match. - Amazing brawl between Mil Muertes and Fenix and certainly made the most of the stipulation in the best way possible. Mil ripping off the mask to expose Fenix's head was a great touch and seeing Fenix beaten up and bloodied like that really added to the match. The only real negative to the match I have was the amount of time the massively bleeding Fenix was thrown into the crowd as I don't feel so hot on blood being thrown around into the crowd. - I wonder if Catrina leaving with Mil Muertes is a sign that she's not done with him and is using his "death" to make him bigger and stronger (again, I haven't watched in a while (I did see the clip of Mil pulling her into the ring, but that could be a swerve or something), so maybe Catrina hate Mil now and this wouldn't make sense).
Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing more of LU.

I love the idea that the fued was REALLY Catrina vs Mil Muertas w Fenix as a pawn.
Who opened and closed the casket on Mil? Who really set this all up? Who had the power in this entire feud?

It's another thing I really like about LU, non-wrestlers aren't just mouthpieces and tag-alongs, they have their own agency and agendas. It fits straight in with the whole telenovela presentation, LU is not a wrestling show, it's a TV show about a wrestling promotion, just because a character is not a wrestler doesn't mean they're an afterthought.

I also appreciate that, while showing villainous tendencies, Dario Cueto is not just another heel boss. He's actually a rather complex character.

Drago's dope. I really want how he does the tongue thingy Lmao "that walk across the top rope to do a hurricanrana" Aerostar move is the most useless spot ever. Just do the f***ing move bro Man i never thought i'd find goddamn Big Zeke awesome. They're booking him so well. Holy butts! that main event was brutal like a motherf***er. Intense brawl and great storytelling. Mil looked like he wanted to shoot murder Fenix. I absolutely LOVED the ripped mask and blood visual. Fenix is pretty much the Sami Zayn of LU in terms of selling and drawing people into this match. Great episode.

Next week is their big supercard it seems. Both the AAA and LU titles are being defended.

Seemed cool enough, but he basically set Drago up on one turbuckle ran to the other, just to walk the middle ropes. It would have been cooler if he didn't run away from him faster than he ran towards him, but you know...wrestling.

I don't watch the whole shows, as I have no access to El Rey, but they post some full matches on their official facebook page. So I got to see the Grave Consequences match. WOW. Was much different than I expected, but incredibly awesome. Great presentation. Loved the old school ECW feel of being around a crowd. Fenix even used that one guy for balance!

Yeah, most heel-leaning authorities are flat characters, either of the "dirty coward hiding behind bigger guys" or the "smug asshole who one-ups everyone and is never embarrassed" persuasion. They've done a great job in avoiding the usual pitfalls and making Cueto an interesting character to have running things.

While I like how they've been booking Big Ryck, dude needs to get a different look yesterday. I get it if you don't want to wear trunks, but like, wrestle in jeans or something, the not-even-customized exercise shorts look, looks painfully, painfully indy.

Striker saying "tough little girl" about Catalina during the coffin match was the most patronising thing ever. Please replace him immediately.

Not sure if there were any plans to ever bring Perro Aguayo Jr. into Lucha Underground, but there are tribute signs for him at tonight's tapings.

BTW, if anyone's interested in watching LU (or El Rey in general) and can't get the network, look to SlingTV, it's one of the channels that comes with the basic subscription package. It's pretty much what sold me on it when I get rid of my cable.

My only major pet peeve with Lucha Underground (Besides the Maria Susana treatment of Sexy Star) is the constant stream of gimmick matches. Not to say that said matches aren't good but this is why I call it Lucha Society X. It seems like every week there is a gimmick match.

Just started watching this from the beginning. It's so weird but so good. Like they're not even hiding that wrestling is a soap but it works.
