From an MK promotion event. Would make a good trios team. Based off of the first film, Dario would make an excellent Shang Tsung. Why couldn't they have been DLC characters? I'd have taken them over Jason in a heartbeat.

Tomorrow's show. * Aerostar vs. Jack Evans * Medallion Match: Fenix vs. Sexy Star vs. The Mack vs. Killshot vs. Cage vs. King Cuerno vs. Pentagon Jr * Alberto El Patron vs. Hernandez And Dario again shows his true nature. these three are such an entertaining trios team. Just cracks me up every time they interact, but they still make them seem tough. This is that perfect comedic, but still a threat blend that WWE can't seem to figure. Have them bicker and get the laughs, but when things get real.... Angelico: "No...we FIGHT." SoH: "We fight." Iveilesse: "Damn right we fight."

Still no word on if Lucha Underground has been renewed yet. Hopefully we get word soon about something.

Hasn't the renewal been all but official?

Hasn't the renewal been all but official? Nope. LU finished the season off with cliffhangers for season 2 (If it gets renewed). Wrestling Society X did the same thing and got cancelled before the 6th episode. El Rey is still dragging ass about renewing and Univision already did their upfronts and no mentions of them. Plus it doesn't help the other network it airs on, UniMas, is re-formatting their network.

It's time for a Lucha Underground Rewind!
On our last episode, Hernandez showed to everyone watching and Prince Puma his true colors as he attacked the champ who was his partner and laid him out making his intentions clear that he was coming for The Lucha Underground Championship sending Konnan into a rage over his betrayal.
Meanwhile, The Crew with Dario's threat hanging over their heads went in for payback against two of The Unlikely Trios Champions, Son of Havoc and Angelico. Despite putting aside their grudges it was not to be as Ivelisse could only look on as her partners were pinned for the one two three.
And finally in our Main Event, Alberto El Patron and Johnny Mundo fought on to see who would face SuperMex the following week. The Mexican Aristocrat and The Wednesday Night Delight went at it where their could only be one winner as each pulled out all the stops showcasing why they are two of the best in the world, in the end Alberto defeated Johnny Mundo to earn the right to face Hernandez.
Which one will it be who faces Prince Puma for The Lucha Underground Championship, Hernandez or Alberto? And what evil plans are forming in Catrina's mind now that she has brought Mil Muertes back to the land of the living? Let's find out!

That 7 way match was a mess, but it was still very fun watch.
I hereby dub Mil Muertes as Lucha-Taker.
I really appreciate the fact that matches can end without the official finishers hitting. Feels fresh.

Man, Jack got straight murdered on that Destroyer. Amazing. Love Katrina revealing Fenix for a fool and the Death Dancers taunting him. Poor Alberto El Jannetty. Loved Dario's reactions to it. I really want LU to survive just for him. He is such a refreshing change to the HHH, Dixie and Vince McMahon's of the wrestling world. I cannot believe I am saying this but I am hoping Hernandez (btw, 290lbs my ass LU, brother is tiny now) destroys the joke that is Puma.

From 411mania via Wrestlezone: What I've been hearing is that we may not get an announcement for months, and nothing's in stone for now, but everyone is going on the assumption that it will get renewed.

Did you all see how Alberto tried to escape Mundo by jumping through the window? What an act of cowardice!

Dario has a visitor and doesn't even offer him a drink. What a heel.

One day we'll get to see the monster in the cage. My money it's an more evil version of Dario. Aerostar vs Evans was very fun. The finish was insane. Nice to see another Wrestling Society X alumni on the show. Maybe Evans and Angelico's other partner, Australian Suicide, shows up at some point. The battle for the 7 medallions is on. The opening match was fun. It broke down into Cuerno/Cage vs Mack/Killshot and Pentagon Jr vs anyone with a pulse. Sexy Star was treated like an annoying gnat. Fenix winning was a pleasant surprise. Speaking of Fenix, Lady Death Catrina played him like a chump. The Disciples of Death made their presence known. The main event was a battle of two guys that their former companies wanted to make the next great luchador. Match was alright. Mundo helped Alberto break on through to the other side. Dario was most impressed with Alberto crashing into his window. Why Johnny did it? Because he was tired of Alberto punking him. Still no word on if Lucha Underground has been renewed yet. Hopefully we get word soon about something. From 411mania via Wrestlezone: What I've been hearing is that we may not get an announcement for months, and nothing's in stone for now, but everyone is going on the assumption that it will get renewed. Not to be pessimistic but until I hear official word from El Rey about a season 2, I won't start planning out how everything goes down. Matador was touted as El Rey's flagship show and it got cancelled over budget issues not ratings. Which I add are in line with what LU is getting. Univision already announced their Fall schedule and no LU was mentioned. I'll breathe a sigh of relief when all of the remaining episodes air and a season 2 renewal press release is sent out.

Think we'll ever get acknowledgement that Fenix and Pentagon Jr are brothers?

Think we'll ever get acknowledgement that Fenix and Pentagon Jr are brothers? I'm shocked that Matt Striker didn't say it.

I can't see Lucha Underground being too expensive to produce. Pro wrestling used to be considered fairly cheap to produce, and compared to WWE, and even TNA, LU fits that mold. They could probably cut some costs here and there - like losing the mariachi band who they have to hand over a few C-notes for 20 seconds of music every week. Also, some reports say they're scouting other locations that might be cheaper. I've heard maybe Texas, or somewhere else in the Southwest. They could work in a storyline by intimating that the cops are looking at Cueto, and he packed up and relocated ahead of a possible raid on the Temple. Big, perceivably dimwitted, monster kept in a cage by his sleazy, manipulative, cowardly brother and treated like an animal. He'll turn face eventually. A maybe-spoiler regarding two of the Disciples' identities: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}One is Ricky Mandel, and another is El Mariachi Loco, in case you end up wondering what happened to those guys, unless they pull double duty. With Mundo and Hernandez turning and Evans debuting, we're starting to re-stock the heel side. Definitely needed. And could Big Ryck be turning back already?
