KOFI HELD BACK, THANKS TO REAL LIFE FIGHT WITH VINCE MCMAHON!?
Vince McMahon has not fought in the WWE in a while, but Chris Jericho says Kofi Kingston once got into a real fight with the boss while on a plane. Unfortunately, no one whipped out their smartphone to record this scuffle on video, but he is telling the world about the incident through his new book Best in the World (At What I Have No Idea).
Chris Jericho was probably wondering the same thing when Vince McMahon reportedly made a snide remark to Kofi Kingston, saying, “Maybe one day you’ll get over.” They happened to be on a plane at the time, and as Kingston and Jericho departed the airplane the, latter wrestler noticed Kofi was noticeably disturbed by the comment. So Jericho decided to be an instigator and told Kington to challenge McMahon to a fight. Kofi thought it was just a rib at first, but then he realized he better be serious about the situation, and returned to confront the WWE boss man.
According to Wrestling Inc., this is how the fight between and Vince McMahon and Kofi Kingston went down.
“Kingston took Jericho’s advice and got back on the plane and asked Vince McMahon if he had a problem with him. The two traded verbal barbs back and forth until Vince McMahon shot in for a double leg takedown out of nowhere and he and Kingston subsequently wrestled around. McMahon has been known to test his amateur wrestling against the likes of Kurt Angle, also repeatedly attempting to take him down on a flight. McMahon finally got up and laughed the situation off, with McMahon liking that Kingston stood up for himself.”
I got this off a WWE Facebook page.

While I'm not going to debate whether this story is true or false, I think the real reason Kofi hasn't been pushed is because his skills have deterioriated and he's just not a good wrestler anymore.

Damn between this fight (if true) and his CM Punk affiliation, no wonder he has been pushed sp far down the card regardless of his obvious talents. I hope this changes soon, he is one of my favorites in WWE. Ah now I don't think that's anything got to do with it!

Posted this yesterday in the thread about the Rourke story, but I just enjoy the fact that Vince's first reaction to someone kicking off isn't sending his goons in or trying to talk it out, but rather shooting for a double leg. Dude's insane.

I like to imagine the flights with Kurt Angle were interesting.
"So, yeah, I was thinking about bringing my gold medal to-" "SNEAK ATTACK!" "Oh, Vince, not this shit again."

The thing is, despite been a 70 year old man I can still imagine Vince kicking ass in a fight. The guy just comes across as a legitimately tough old bastard who won't back down from anyone and won't give in until he can't physically get up any more.
He's awesome.

Damn, Jericho is the worst when it comes to being an instigator. He was the one who lit the fuse that lead to the explosion that was the infamous Jim Cornette Dairy Queen incident.

If WWE want more subscribers to their network, they'd have a reality show where the camera simply follows Vince around all day.

I know Vince likes balls or whatever but it seems odd that a low-carder would start shit with VKM...
Dammit!

Funny how many guys walk on eggshells backstage fearful of rubbing management up the wrong way, when Vince seems to love nothing more than someone having the fortitude to stand up to him. Kofi might not have ever had a sustained push to the top (nor should he have done) but he's in the kind of 'comfortable midcard staple' role that a lot of guys would kill for. You could imagine him being around forever, and stuff like this might have a lot to do with it. R-Truth is in the same position, and Vince is famously very fond of him.

If this is true then you'd figure Vince would push Kofi since Kofi stood up for himself. Then again I guess this is why Kofi always, until recently, was basically the John Cena of midcard titles.

Maybe Vince should start openly saying that people need to step up their efforts instead of trying to test them. Push a guy because he gets reactions and because he's a solid wrestler, not because he kicked Vince in the nuts. If this is true then you'd figure Vince would push Kofi since Kofi stood up for himself. Then again I guess this is why Kofi always, until recently, was basically the John Cena of midcard titles. Kofi was the only midcard face in existence.

We have to remember that while he may be a multi millionaire, Vince will always be trailer park trash, he met his dad until he was on his late teens, Gallows once mentioned that the Festus gimmick was based on a kid Vince grew up with. Hell VKM even challenged Angle to a fight in 2006.
Vince likes people standing up to themselves, ok maybe he hasn't been pushed, but Kofi hasn't been fired, maybe it has to do with the fact that he stood up to Vince.

As much as I really can't stand his last-minute booking changes, there's not many in the business that entertain me as much as Vince does. We are so lucky to have this crazy bastard around.

LMAO. Vince is always going for that double leg takedown, when he was trying to steal Harley Race from the NWA before he could drop the title to Flair in 83, Harley refused and on the way out of the restaurant Vince tried that moronic double leg takedown and got choked out for his troubles. The key to success in the WWE is cussing Vince out and/or beating the hell out of him.

Oh yeah, Linda and Harley's wife were there too, Vince is nuts, he didn't care they were on a nice restaurant, his wife was present, and also the fact that he tried to shoot on Harley f***ing Race, who apart from being a bad ass also carry guns around. I wonder if he ever tried to pull that shit with Lesnar or Haku
