Nah, dude's good in ring, great on the mic and gets great pops off a single catchphrase. He just seems to have a tendency to get injured when he's on the cusp of a push. I reckon they'll have something decent lined up for him when he returns.

Nope, just another unfortunate victim.

No, because his Bad News gimmick was getting over before his injury

Barrett is another guy who, along with Rybavk and Ssndow, shoujd have been kept in a position similar to Sheamus or Kane. Instead of shoving him WAY down the ladder and making him a jobber, keep him solidly in the midcard and sometimes use him in the main event on an as needed basis-such as filling in for injuries or adding an extra man to Eliminstion Chamber or MitB matches. If they had been kept in such a position they could have easily helped prevent the mind numbing repo titian we've seen this year.

Depends on how things go when he's back. If he has yet another dead pointless gimmick I'd say yes. So much wasted potential, but then I never rated him much either until BNB.

I consider him someone that still has a lot of upside and how his return goes will be key. I really think his biggest chance is yet to come.

Knowing WWE they'll book his return in a "It's.....Wade" segment in Kentucky or something.
It needs to be treated as a big deal in a smark town like Chicago.

During the Nexus feud and the follow up with the Corre (correct me if I spelt that incorrectly), the story they wrote pretty much ruined his character. 1 blame goes to the WWE.
During the midcard build of street-fighting-man -with no real character- Barrett which ended when he put himself at risk to save Dolph Ziggler when Big Show lobbed Ziggles quite recklessly, ending with a broken arm...well, that wasn't his fault either. I don't blame Show for that either, bad stuff happens. But with that lack-o'-character it was honestly better for him to take time off to come back and grab a character upgrade.
During the BNB build he was great, his responses were at first inconsistent depending on the crowd, but then he got consistently strong responses and was in a good spot. He was one of the few midcard champions who wasn't losing to the main eventers every other week. And then the incident with Swagger on the outside happened. Not his fault.
Regardless of who's to blame if you look at his potential he is a bust right now, but he does have time to get back on track. Wade always had the charisma, in ring he'd improved a lot to capitalize on his big man brawling style, let's just hope the injury bug gets off him and the WWE put him in a good set of feuds.

He seems a lot like Bradshaw in that Bradshaw entered the company in 1996 and all along WWE apparently saw main event potential in him but he went through a lot of repackaging and repurposing before finally breaking through in 2004 after 8 years in the company. Barrett is now heading towards year 5 without the major breakthrough, though he has been a lot closer to it than Bradshaw was pre-JBL. I don't think he's a bust, some things just take time. If Vince decides he's tired of the Bad News stuff and rechristens him Wade "Hawk" Barrett....indeed, God help us all.

If he can never get over the injury bug, then at the very least he would make a great colour announcer. The fact that they've not had him doing this on a guest basis, or on the lesser shows, while he's been rehabbing, is insane.
But Barrett is great. He looks like a tough guy, he sounds like a tough guy, and he has charisma and wit as well. You can't go wrong with him... except for when he keeps getting injured.

Rusev should be in the ring. Lana says "it clear, dat no Americaaan, can stop Roooosev"
Bad News walks out, kills Rusev, gets the mic, walks up to Lana and says "I'm not American"

Not on WWE's part. For a performer that's still evolving and has dealt with the injury bug numerous times, he's done as well as he can.

Hard to judge right now. The Bad News gimmick was getting over and hopefully will regain that once he comes back. I know that I will be happy once he comes back.
He has been a slow burner his entire career and obviously the injuries are not helping, this return is critical to his future though.
