good game 7, but the blowouts of the previous 6 won't make this an all time great series. Congrats to Giants and Royals, but unless your a fan of either team, does anyone else agree that was a pretty unmemorable season? Ehhh I dunno about that. The Diamondbacks beat the hell out of the Yankees in Game 6 and had an all time Game 7 so the series is fondly remembered

Bumgarner was amazing. On two days rest to do what he did is unbelievable. At least he has four months to rest up before Spring Training. Well deserved.

One thing you have to admit is poectic justice, the Giants acheieve all this success after Barry Bonds leaves. What is Bonds thinking watchign this without a ring.

That was the most depressingly dull trophy presentation I have seen in the history of all sports. It's my first season watching baseball, do they always do the presentation in such a bland way?
Where is there no on-field player celebrations with the trophy? Where is the celebratory music and confetti? Why did only a few boring old men in suits get their hands on the trophy?
Really enjoyed the game but the aftermath was such a letdown. It's like having Daniel Bryan quietly awarded the title belt by Vince at Wrestlemania 30 in a backstage area rather than the tickertape in-ring celebrations.

It's amazing how things changed.
For 50+ years, the Giants were Cubs Lite. Snakebitten heartbreakers who I thought would never win the big one.
Now, they've become October invincibles.
Amazing to think that after the 2003 NLDS Pudge Rodriguez game, they have NEVER tasted defeat in an elimination game. At that time, I thought they were gonna never win it all in my lifetime.

Yeah you had games 4 and 5 in addition to game 7 as all time great World Series games.

This is a depressing felling its sad. I am not sure the Royals can make it back next year this season felt in many ways like lightning in a bottle. but this was a great season and I am so grateful that this happened. Since really the cancelled world series season I have been a passive fan I go to one or two games every year but I have not let my heart get into it fully for the first time in a long time I have and it was wonderful ride. This Royals team was not supposed to do this if you had told me that they would finish second in the central but miss the playoffs I would have been happy. If they had lost to the As the season would have already been beyond my wildest hopes. To come this close is something I will never forgot. To think around 15 games into the season I was listening to local radio having a serious discussion on if Ned Yost had just made a fire able move. They were in favor of getting rid of the soon to be world series manager just goes to show how little we fans and even talking heads really know about the sport.

Ridiculous how lights out Madison Bumgarner is. Two days rest, and he shuts down the Royals in the highest pressure situation possible. In another age, he'd be one of America's most celebrated athletes, but it goes to show how poorly marketed MLB is these days.
Congrats San Francisco!

If that moron Alex Gordon hustles right out of the batter's box, the Royals end up winning. They should probably trade him.

I love baseball but I just can't get excited about the Giants. The Royals winning would have given hope to the hopeless, the Giants winning is pretty boring honestly.
But congrats to the champs. If Bumgarner doesn't get paid in dumptrucks full of money you are fools, FOOLS

Congrats to Giants and Royals, but unless your a fan of either team, does anyone else agree that was a pretty unmemorable season? Unmemorable regular season, maybe. But this one post season I'm not going to soon forget. I'm very proud of this Royals team. The Giants just happen to be my second favorite team (I became a fan back when Brian Wilson was their pitcher and started following baseball more than I usually did), but this is one season that I did not want them to win. Just the same, congrats to the Giants dynasty, hope KC sees you next world series. I really mean that.

Nationals exercised OF Denard Span's $9 million club option for 2015.
Kevin Youkilis has retired from baseball.
Cardinals exercised RHP John Lackey's $500,000 club option for 2015.

Game 7's = ratings. Just haven't seen one in 12 years.
Probably also had to do with a lot of people making the Royals an adopted team since they haven't won anything since the 80's and they were a nice "feel good" story. And it was a close game right down to the final batter.
